Description of 1964 Fiat 500 D |
1964 Fiat 500 D with suicide doors. Restored in Italy. Please see the link to videos and pictures below. This is a smile producing machine. You while driving it. The people you drive by. It's just an incredible iconic vehicle that I'm sad to have to say goodbye to. Our house incurred major damage from a door left open which froze pipes and has created a massive expense that we need to take care of. The car in the detached garage was not impacted at all. This has been a summer only vehicle for me and it has been stored in our detached garage when not in use. Here is a link to dropbox with more pictures and a video. The two issues are the rear engine panel has hinges on it that are prone to rust. This is showing through the paint. It's a thin layer that could be easily fixed but I'm going to leave it for the next owner. The other is the drivers seat and door. The support piece below the seat made of fabric needs to be repaired, as does the piece of leather that the front door is attached to. Both are very easy fixes. I purchased this vehicle in Italy and shipped it in a container across the ocean to a port in NJ and it was then delivered to our house. Shipping alone with taxes, container fees, port fees, delivery to and from the port and customs inspection was over $5k. The model D is for the purists. This is where it all started. And for me, there are very few cars out there in this price range that have the power to captivate anyone that comes across it. NY State registered vehicle. Ownership is transferred via registration plus a contract bill of sale and not the title because it is over 20 years old. Message me with any questions. Ciao |
