Description of 1980 Fiat 124 Spider |
We are pleased to offer this very clean and by the looks and drive of the car very well maintained 1981 Fiat 124/2000 spider. This is a 1981 not 1980. The exterior is white, the interior looks to be original and is blue, an unmarked black soft top completes a stunning combination. The body appears to be accident and rust free. This is proberbly 1 of the most solid original Fiat 124 cars that is available in todays market. No rust repair completely original. The paint has some chips and the panels have a few indentations, nothing that a good dent guy could not remove, or you could take it to the next level and repaint the whole car and have a show car, or leave as is and have a great daily driver! The interior looks to be original and is in excellent shape for a car of this age, the seats are soft and comfortable, the dash is fine with no cracks or shrinking, door panels are good, The carpets look original and are in good shape. The drivers side original carpetisn't there so mats cover sound proofing. odo works, speedo works, as does mileage counter, clock works andtemperature gauge works. Indicators work correctly, and wipers appear to be working correctly. No problems with the instruments on this Fiat. The soft top is in excellent condition and works correctly. The soft topmechanism folds effortlessly and smoothly. All glass is good and chrome is good too. Bottom of chrome bumper has some pitting but notvisiblefrom top. Weather stripping on doors is ok but will need replacing at some point. Seat belts pull and retract good. glovebox opens correctly. All wood is in good shape as is vinyl interior parts. Rear seats are in good shape as is rear vinyl panels. All door controls work correctly. Windows roll up and down with ease and doors open correctly. Theexterior appears to have all original panels. The front fenders and hood have been repainted .Apparently it was down to a bad car cover rubbing on front ofcar. There are some flaws and chips on this Fiat but, from 10 feet it looks like a show car, upon closer inspection you can tell its notshow car but a really nice driver. You would not worry about parking this Fiat in a supermarket carpark, but maybe you would, as a car that looks as good as this may well get stolen! The floors areoriginal and rust free. Theres no rust on this entire car. There are pingdents onmost panels but mainly on the rear passengers panel. All minor dents can be removed. TheMechanics are in excellent shape. This Fiat just passed the California smog test with flying colors. No back and forth, first time passed smog! The enginepurrs, the transmission is silky smooth with no badsynchros. You can evenengage 1st at 5mph. The clutch is good. All brakes work correctly. As far as we know this is the original engine which has covered 90k miles. The operatingtemperature is atnormal in traffic, drops to low on gauge when driving at 70 mph onfreeway, which you can sustain for miles and miles. The steering is correct with no problems. The front suspension is creaking so bushings will need replacing if thats your thing, but all bushings look ok and may get better over time, i don't know! This car has been sitting for over 2 years. This car could be used as a daily driver upon delivery! No problems, just get in and drive. Don't be frightened of over heating or other problems, this Fiat is fine! Overall, This is proberbly as nice a Fiat as you will find without having an extensive restoration. Just get in and drive! Go to the local car show, you will not beembarrassed 1 bit. People will tellyou theyhaven't seen a Fiat in this good of shape in many years. Your localmechanic will tell you it needs a few thing which will be minor and not dangerous, but its a really nice car, thats how they get their business. Good for them, butrealistically you can use upon delivery. Previous owner said timing belt was replaced 2 years ago but did not provide work order. Whoever gets this car is going to be extremelyhappy. This Fiat has a Oregon title, it has been DMV verified in California and also smog tested inCaliforniaso can be registered with no problems in California. We will supply Smog certificate and DMV verification to buyer upon purchase. We have manuals and books for this Fiat. Any question please email. Thanks Russell. We will assist with shipping! |
