Description of 1907 Ford Other |
Offered for Sale by the California Automobile Museum 1907 Ford Model R We Offer Financing Please inquire before bidding This is a rather rare car. Ford did actually have cars lettered A to T, hen they went back to the Model A in 1927, ven if every letter didn’t make it past the design stage. The original Model A and C had the engine under the seat. The Model N was the first front engined car and the Model R was an upgrade to the N with a bigger body, ull fenders and oil lamps. The Model R was only produced for one year with a total of 2,500 built so survivors are rare. This Model R has been in the same family since the 1950s. Owners grandfather restored the car by hand with a lot of hard work and the sourcing parts from around the world. First licensed in 1958, he car was front and center in many parades around the North Hollywood and North Hollywood park through the ‘70s. Weekend car shows and special events were visited as often as possible in the car.Sometime in the 70s it went into storage in Southern California then in 1999 it was moved to Northern California where it has been in the same garage until now.Unfortunately during the trip up north, he bows for the top were damaged (as pictured).Tires are falling apart from age and the paint should probably be redone but structurally the car is in good shape.Engine does turn freely but no attempts have been made to try and start the car. |
