Description of 1957 Ford Other |
1957 ford country sedan wagon. 6 passenger. with the right look. patina and stance. it's the perfect power tour car or road trip just like it is. 351 windsor 2 barrell. AOD overdrive trans. dual exhaust. cruise control that works. shoulder seat belts. front disc brakes california car. still has the black california tags on it from 1963 the last sticker on them is 1973. virtually rust free (it has a very small spot on the bottom of the passenger rear quarter behind the wheel on the underneath side). Bottom of doors are in good shape just surface rust very solid. Bottom of tailgate is in great shape just surface rust. bottom of rear glass lift gate is solid no rust. floors and rockers great. rear wheel houses great. Motor is quiet does not smoke. good power. The story that i got from the guy i bought it from is that a young man had gotten accepted to KU college in kansas and was driving across western kansas and the motor blew. he got it to a house and asked the farmer if he could leave it there and send a tow truck for it and he said thats fine. No body ever came for it so he put it in his barn. almost 30 years went by and the farmer passed away and his wife auctioned everything off and a man bought it applied for a lost title put the 351 and overdrive cruise seats and belts in it. The gentleman i bought it from bought it from that guy. Everything on this car works. wipers all lights and signals. dome light. temp and gas gauge work. heater (it's in the 20's here and stays toasty inside). except the radio doesn't work. the clock is still ticking in the dash. It has 75k on it. probably original. When i bought it it was in the back of the guys out building he said start it up i havn't started it in a couple of months. 1 pump it didn't turn half a crank and fired right up. there was one drip of oil underneath it that's it. Spare tire and jack in the cargo area. The only thing i can find remotely odd about the car is that you have to put it in neutral to start it. it starts fine. probably neutral safety switch. if nothing else it's a good theft deterent. Windows roll great and locks work great. Newer headliner. the front seat is out of a truck with built in cup holders. and the original rear was recovered to match. the carpet is in good shape but doesn't fit perfect it looks like its made for a different vehicle. interior is tidy and in good shape even the original door panels. it's all there except the kick panels are missing. This is based on the fairlane and the ranchero is the same also so any parts should be readily available. Chrome trim and bright work all are in good shape. All of the glass is in good shape. the windshield has 4 spots that look like they were shot with a bb gun the lowest one has a 3" crack not in any ones view. The car is air and water tight. 15" weld drag lights with bf goodrich tires in good shape. This is an awesome wagon. you will not be disappointed. I do body. paint and restorations on muscle and classic cars on the side so i know what i'm looking at. look at my feedback and bid with confidence. Clean clear title. thanks for looking at my car. feel free to come look at it. i reserve the right to end the auction early. $500 deposit due at auction end. sold as is. total payment due within 7 days. pick up to be arranged by buyer. will assist in loading. if you are out of the US do not bid. do not bid if you do not intend to buy. 816-824-0984The a/c compressor is being used as an idler pulley it's not hooked up. On Dec-08-14 at 16:42:58 PST. seller added the following information:Manual steering thats not to bad to turn. Manual brakes with single master cylinder. it stops straight and doesn't feel like manual brakes. they work great. |
