Description of 1948 Ford Model A |
| Here is a VERY COOL piece of racing history. This was a Dirt sprint car from the 40's. I was told it Came from Delaware originally. Was in the barn for many years. I was gonna put in on an A chassis but. its a little to narrow and I could not justify cutting it up. My guess was it was built on a narrowed chassis and ran a flat head V-8. All aluminum. hand formed cowl with rolled edge around the cockpit. Monical style windshield frame. Very early Arrow style gauges and a Ford speedo in an Aluminum plate dash. The hood sides are Aluminum. louvered. riveted and cut out for V-8 style Zoomie headers. The hood top has been damaged and cut on so You'll probably build a new one. The cowl looks to have been formed around a model T firewall maybe. No radiator. there is an old Chevy radiator shell. The tail piece is expanded metal with old medal numerals. I found the old metal bucket seats and added them in the auction. and No. I won't separate them. You can build a very ligit. antique racer with these parts. No title. !Call JR for more info or pics. 1-740-501-4908 |
