Description of 1966 Ford Mustang Sprint 200

For Sale: 1966 Ford Mustang Sprint 200Motor: 200 cubic inch inline 6 cylinderCarb: Single barrel(Autolite 1100/1101 series)Transmission: C4 automaticColor: Light blueInterior: Blue/white deluxe Pony interiorThis darling Mustang has been well cared for and in my possession for sometime now and is in a great state for it's next custodian. There have been lots of corrections made from it's previous ownership making the car much more reliable and dependable. All work performed by myself and dad(since owning) who is/was a Master Ford Technician for 30 + years. A restoration was performed about 10 years ago and it was kept in decent shape at the time i acquired it. Since then the process has been continued only in a much better fashion. The car has many new parts. lots of rebuilt assemblies(including the motor!) and is running & driving very dependably at this time. All records. receipts. invoices. etc have been kept from what was passed onto me when i purchased the car as well as what i have performed. Clean and clear title. Current registration. This is an original San Jose car from when Ford had their assembly plant in the South Bay Area as many of you will know. It has been in the Bay Area it's entire life. Previously held in a family for many years being passed onto children prior to the father's passing(before selling to myself). This Mustang really has a fabulous quality that is easily fell in love with. It really embodies the European charm they intended to mimic when the team at Ford designed the model(in contrast to the more American Pony car/Muscle vibe car of course). She get's a lot of attention wherever she goes. people really love everything about her. Please review the following details of what has been performed to the car both in my possession and from the previous owner(will add to listing after reviewing records further if i leave anything out):Rebuilt engine. exact mileage since rebuild is unknownRebuilt carburetor(Autolite 1100/1101-this thing has great value in and of itself as they're hard to come by now)New starter(solid unit purchased through Napa auto parts)New fuel pumpNew fuel filterNew fuel pressure sending unitNew fuel tankNew oil pressure sendingRebuilt distributorNew coil(original fluid style)New plugs and plug wiresMany new seals/gaskets throughout the engine compartmentRebuilt radiator(original from 1966! great value in this part alone)Added overflow reservoir w/matching blue frame secured to inner fender well on driver's sideOriginal FoMoCo washer fluid bladderLarger 5 blade fan(still have original smaller 4 blade)New air filterBraking system serviced(complete service on all 4 drums including pads)Tires are in great shape(Hankook skinny white walls have a lot of tread life left. spare is brand new matching set)Transmission shifts great!(replaced seals on shift shaft though has light seepage near front of housing)New floor switch for high beams for headlightsAll lights functioning properly(headlights. brakes. running lamps. turn signals. cluster. interior floor lamps. hazards)All interior was completely redone by previous owner this includes(front seats need to be recovered). ashFront seatsDoor panelsRear seatsCarpetSteering(Grant wood wheel installed by previous owner. would suggest the original deluxe wood wheel)New package tray(TMI ford licensed/authorized interior component. factory match)New plaid trunk liner. spare tire cover. jack/wheel wrench bag. wing nut for retaining spare(factory correct)Modern head unit w/cd player and male connector for Apple device located in glove box. will play music but not charge device(installed by previous owner)Exterior was repainted by previous owner. defects list belowSmall chips in some areas(not many)1 or 2 blister spots(paint raised but not chipped)Light blistering behind rear quarter windowsOverall pain job quality is okay. looks great and cleans up with a detail very nicely but is by no means a $10-$20K paint jobBumpers in solid shape(front surface is in better shape than rear. rear has light surface deterioration)Factory correct driver's side mirror only. no passenger mirror(this of course can be installed very easily if desired)As noted above the car is now running and driving very well. There were many issues with her when i purchased the car due to the previous owner's poor work applied. I have since cleaned up just about all of those things including a lot effort to the electrical behind the dash. Most of the wiring has been cleaned up. reconnected properly. connections greased. connections replaced. etc. I can explain in detail everything that was done due to the symptoms experienced when i purchased the car via message or phone conversation of course. If you would like to ask any questions about the car please reach out via message. i'm delighted to provide all information about the car i can. She's a great little driver and a fantastic platform for an experienced Mustang lover. general Petrolhead. or someone completely new to the hobby. Everything needed is available for Mustangs as we all know. There certainly are a few things i'll recommend that should be performed to make it that much of a better driving car but otherwise this is something that you can drive everyday right now. It doesn't randomly die on you in the intersection. the fuel gauge works and accurately displays the fuel level. it starts when you go to turn it over. it really can be a daily driven vehicle! Thanks so much for your interest. i look forward to hearing from you. -More pictures available upon request. -Vehicles is for sale locally as well. Thus auction is subject ending early from local sale.
