Description of 1923 Ford Other

Judging by our recent sales, t looks like the T-bucket is back in fashion. The wildest creation on four wheels, hese minimalist rods have been a mainstay of the hobby for decades, ut it seems that our thirst for all things retro has made this 1923 T-bucket a very hot property indeed.Norm Grabowski laid out template for the T-bucket years ago, nd this one sticks to the formula quite faithfully with a minimalist roadster body and a stubby sort-of pickup bed out back. It's fiberglass as so many are, ith great finish quality and a vivid paint scheme that makes the most of the way-out design. High-visibility colors like bright yellow always work well, nd with a few contrasting bits in black, t embraces the "more is more" design philosophy that has guided T-bucket builders from the beginning. There are no doors, o windows, o trunk lid, nd no hood, o we won't bother talking about how well it's bolted together, ut what it does offer is a great shine and above-average finish quality so that it'll look great for years to come. The two-piece windshield is part of the look, choing the original Model T look from a century ago and the padded deck lid is the right look. Vintage details designed to tie it tightly to its Model T DNA include the lantern-style cowl and tail lights, odel T grille shell with moto-meter on top, nd headlights mounted on their own little stalks.Tradition dictated the interior design as well, ith a pleated tan bench seat that wraps around the bodywork. Matching side panels and a simple aluminum dashboard reinforce the sense of history inside the T-bucket. That instrument panel is full of classic-looking Auto Meter instruments with a suitably vintage look that almost recalls period Stewart-Warner gauges. Packaging is always an issue in the T, ut the shifter is cleverly located under your right knee and there's an AM/FM radio stashed out of sight. The driving position is fairly comfortable despite the radical steering column angle, erhaps because the Grant GT steering wheel feels great in your hands. Yeah, t's minimalist in there, ut everything that does remain is in excellent condition and shows great attention to detail. The engine is a Ford 289 cubic inch V8, anging out there for the whole world to see which is the whole point. Finished with handsome chrome valve covers and a giant scoop of an air cleaner, t's dressed appropriately as part of the design, ot merely a powerplant. A big 4-barrel carburetor feeds a polished Edelbrock intake, nd chrome headers with radical side pipes give you an authentic look and sound. A modern radiator core keeps it cool with the help of an engine-driven cooling fan, o you don't have to worry about traffic on a hot afternoon. The transmission is a C4 3-speed automatic connected to a 9-inch rear end by what might be the world's shortest driveshaft. A solid front axle still rides on a buggy spring, hile the rear end is managed by a 4-link and a pair of coil-overs. Staggered wheels have a vintage look and wear 165R15 front and giant Mickey Thompson rear tires for a traditional big-n-little rake. There's no denying that a T-bucket is about the most fun you can have on four wheels, nd at this price, his one surely won't last long at all.
