Description of 1970 Ford Thunderbird |
1970 Ford Thunderbird with low original miles 33k. I got the car from my Grandfather, e was the 3rd owner although he and the 2nd owner didn't drive it much. It has been stored indoors most if not all of it's life. Car runs and drives but would need to be gone thru before being considered road worthy since it hasn't been active on the road in several years. I have started it and driven down the road to make sure transmission, rakes and lights work. The power windows and seat are not currently working, believe the problem is in the switches or a connection as none of the switches seem to work. The paint and body are in good shape but does have a few small dings in the paint so it isn't perfect. From what I can tell it does look like it might have been repainted at some point, ut it is a good paint job. Also the rear passenger side fender looks like it might of had some work done to it at some point (maybe an old fender bender or something). The paint in that corner is a little cracked along the top of the fender (tried to show in pictures). The only rust I've found on the car is a small bubble in the lower front corner of the passenger door (also pictured). The Landau top is in nice shape. All glass looks good as well. The interior is fair. Front seat has a couple of small tears that could probably be fixed fairly easy (pictured). The rear seat is really nice, o issues that I've noticed. The dash has one crack that looks to have been repaired (pictured as well). Carpet in the car is nice. The trunk carpet does have a stain, ooks like a bleach spill or something it's discolored. Headliner is in nice shape, o tears or anything. Engine looks in original condition and fairly clean. Still has lots of factory blue paintvisibleon the block and heads. It's a 429 V8. Overall, would rate the car at about an 8-8.5 out of 10. Great restorationcandidateor drive as is. The car was originally sold in WA state and was not optioned with A/C. The 2nd and 3rd owners were in South Texas so that is where it has been for the last 20 or more years. Body is very dry and solid, ot rusty due to it's time in TX. I do have quite a bit of paper work on the car, ncluding original sales contract from dealership, arge color sales brochure, nd a letter from original ownerverifyingthe mileage. Car is located near Strafford, O (a little east of Springfield), ery close to I-44 exit #96. Plenty of room for auto transports and trailers. Will work with your shipper if needed. Feel free to ask questions, ut please read the add first. I feel like I've represented the car pretty well. |
