Description of 1965 Ford Mustang

Attention serious collectors! This car isNOT a tribute or a clone, t's the real deal and here's your chance to own this piece of HOT ROD Magazine history ... a one-of-a-kind 1965 Mustang Fastback project car dubbed "Mustang Magic".

This story began in the 1970s when a pooped out pony was purchased by HOT ROD magazine's editor, ruce Caldwell, hen transformed into a super street wide-body stallion by custom designer Eddie Paul. FYI, ustang Magic is100% metal except for the Shelby style fiberglass hood. Each phase of the project was featured in 8 issues of Hot Rod from Dec, 978 to Jan, 980 with a cover shot on the Aug, 979 edition. The entire build was then consolidated into a 28-page article in the "first" edition of Hot Rod's MUSTANG MAGAZINE in 1980. If you have access to the #1 issue of Mustang Mag, ook it up.You'll be impressed with the work put into this car including a 289 engine blue-printed at the Edelbrock factory in California. Magic also graced the cover of Petersen Publishing's Shop Series book titled "Engine Swapping". I recently discoveredHot Rod reprinted the MUSTANG MAGAZINE article in another publication namedMUSTANG RESTORATION TIPS & TECHNIQUES.

In addition to the car'sappearance in 11 different publicationsits notoriety doesn't stop there. Mustang Magic's builder, ddie Paul, as a very impressive resume including builds for Hollywood movies like "E.T.", Grease" and "Star Wars". Later he built the "xXx" GTO as well as all the cars in "The Fast & The Furious" and "2Fast 2Furious". Eddie also brought Lightning McQueen, ater & Sally Carrera to life for PIXAR by creating full-sized versions. After I purchased Magic in 2004, sent it to Eddie fora fresh coat ofpaint. He confirmed the car was the authentic Hot Rod magazine project car. Prior to applying the clear coat he signed the car for mein 2009. Eddie also installed front disc brakes and a new Flow Master dual exhaust system. When I got the car back I completed the engine compartment and interior restoration. The new interiorincludedseat fabrichand-woven by a saddle blanket maker in Santa Fe, M since Recaro no long produced or stocked the jet-pattern material Hot Rod Magazine used. This turned out to be a blessing in disguise since the new material is actually better than the original.
As you can see this car is a heavily documented collectible and should bring top dollar at venues such as Barrett Jackson's Celebrity Auction. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!
