Description of 1963 Ford Falcon

Exceptionally well care for and maintained 1963 Falcon Futura! It's easy to get sentimental about the Ford Falcon. Recognizable by red "pie-plate" tail lights, he simple, erviceable and trusty little car was the Model T of its day.It lended itself to numerous configurations, uch as the Ranchero (truck) and the hot Falcon Futura complete with bucket seats. Ironically, he Falcon, ne of the most beloved cars of the 1960s, as the baby of one of that decade's most controversial figures: Robert S. McNamara. McNamara, ith his slicked-back hair and granny glasses is best remembered as the country's Secretary of Defense during America's Vietnam experience. Before that became his albatross, cNamara, ne of Detroit's original "whiz kids," ran things at Ford, he car division he helped rescue from near oblivion in the nifty '50s.About as far from a "car guy" as one could get, cNamara, ften compared to a human computer, uled by numbers. With the Falcon, e ordered a utilitarian car, udgeting in advance the size and weight of each part. And he rode hard on designers, ngineers and marketing men who worked up the image and tooling for "his" car.As one Ford dealer explained after the introduction of the 1960 Ford Falcon, three quarters of a ton ... taken out ... makes the low price possible." -D.
