Description of 1994 Ford F-250 |
1994 Ford F250 Powerstroke 4X4 Ok, his is a long story, ut here goes: I started with a clean California F250 extended cab, our wheel drive, .3L Powerstroke Diesel truck. It was originally a white truck, ut was showing it's age. So, decided I'd have it repainted, nd that would be good enough. A year later....I had the body removed from the frame, nstalled all new body bushings, sed urethane bushings, ot the crummy factory rubber ones. While the front end was off, ecided to rebuild the front suspension. Totally rebuilt, ew upper and lower ball joints, dler arm, itman arm, ie rod ends, ushings, enter axle bushings, hocks, tc. etc. Once the body was back on the truck, t was driven to an alignment shop, nd given an alignment. Then the engine was steam cleaned, nd any leaks were detected, nd repaired. Turned out there weren't too many leaks, ut any that it had, ere addressed. Oil pan gasket, nd valve covers was all it really needed. Next came the lift kit. We installed a 6" suspension lift, ront and back. Did not install a body lift, s I don't like the way the frame hangs down, nd is visible. Then the 5 speed manual transmission was removed, ent out and gone through, eals, earings, ynchro's, tc. Purchased and installed a new flywheel, he solid 1 piece designed for the Powerstroke, ew pressure plate, hrowout bearing, nd clutch disc. All aftermarket, pgraded pieces. Re-installed the transmission. Next was a complete 4 wheel brake job, nd front hub bearings. Then installed aftermarket manual locking hubs. then we turned to the exhaust. Removed everything and started with a new down pipe. and straight piped it the rest of the way, ith a 90 bend exiting in front of the right rear tire. No cat, o muffler, traight through. Actually isn't very loud at all, nd runs very well. Then installed new U joints, /strong> While all of this was going on, he body of the truck was at a bodyshop being prepped for a complete repaint. The bed was replaced with a new/used bed. The outside of the original bed was fine, ut it looked like the previous owner may have hauled gravel or rocks in the bed. In any event, he inside of the bed was all dimpled up. So, ound a good used replacement bed, nd installed it. The body was completely prepped, nd repainted. What little bodywork it needed was done, nd the truck was sprayed the original Ford white, n a base coat/clear coat, stage paint. Once that cured, he entire truck was wet sanded, hen cut with rubbing compound, hen polished, nd finally waxed! This thing is awesome!! The reflection is a mile deep. Note: This truck had/has ZERO rust! California always, no rust. Then, e installed a cold air intake, id all of the usual lube, il, ilter, tc. Bought a set of Rims, nd put on a new set of LT315/75/R16's. I forget what make the rims are, ut they look very good. The tires ride really quiet, nd handle fantastic on the street, s well as the dirt. Then installed a new fuel pump, ilter, uel hoses, nd lines. The body was then put back on the frame with all new bushings. Then everything (fenders, oors, ed, ab) was squared, lumbed, eveled, nd adjusted to fit just right. Installed aftermarket clear headlights, arker lights, nd taillights. Installed a new Ruenel chrome rear bumper, ad a custom class IV 2" receiver hitch built and installed (lift kit). On the inside of the cab, lmost everything was removed, leaned and reinstalled. It has cruise control, ower windows, ower door locks, ilt steering, D stereo, tc. etc. Put new power window motors in both doors, ut in new swing pedal bushings for the clutch/brake pedals. aftermarket shifter handle, ri pod of gauges on the A pillar. Stereo. New Injector O rings, inion nut, ower steering hoses, /C hoses, /C compressor, nterior door handles, nd finally a new windshield, nd seal. So, s you can see, here was a lot of time, abor, arts, nd money put into this job. The truck draws attention like you cant believe. everywhere I go, t's horns honking, nd thumbs up! So, f you're shy, nd don't like attention, his probably isn't the truck foryou. But, he overall product I'm very happy with. Starts, uns, rives, hifts, nd stops very well. Really comfortable and quiet going down the highway, nd everything works as it should, ncluding the ice cold A/C. I'm certainly biased, ut I haven't seen a cleaner F250 here on ebay.... ever. And I don't think you could find one either. This is the one! Bid to win. Free storage for up to 1 month, ith prior arrangements. and I will certainly help YOUR transporter with loading if needed. Bid to win, nd good luck! If you have any questions, lease click on the link at the top, nd I will do my best to answer your question, n a timely manner. On Aug-17-15 at 11:18:44 PDT, eller added the following information:In response to several inquiries about this truck. YES, t is the 7.3L diesel, nd YES it is TURBO'D!!! This truck runs fantastic, nd the turbo works great. The engine is all STOCK, ever been hopped up, ever been chipped. Always adult owned, riven, nd maintained. Pulls Hard, nd doesn't smoke. On Aug-18-15 at 15:33:42 PDT, eller added the following information:Ok, need to clarify something. Due to the number of inquiries, nd people telling me what my truck has for an engine, thought I better do my research. You'd think I'd know what I have, eeing as how I did a body off resto on this truck, nd almost everything on it, s new, ebuilt, r redid. In any event, ere is what I found out. This truck is NOT a Powerstroke. it is a 1994 IDI (indirect injected) 7.3L International V8 engine with a turbo. Here is the difference. The IDI has mechanical injectors. The Powerstroke has electronic injectors. I called a friend of mine who is a senior master tech at Ford. He told me that they are the same engine otherwise. He said that some people like the IDI better, ecause they're easier to tune, nd get more power out of, lus in California you don't have to have them inspected, r smogged every 2 years. Plus he said they're more reliable than the Powerstroke. He said other people like the Powerstroke better, ecause you can easily install a chip to get more power out of them. More expensive, ut easier to do than physically tweak the mechanical version. So, or those of you who have placed a bid, hinking you were bidding on a Powerstroke, apologize, nd if you want to retract your bid, hat's ok. For the rest of you, ow you all know, t's not a Powerstroke, t's a 7.3L Turbo Diesel, ith mechanical injectors (IDI) It runs like a raped ape, nd will pull anything. To be honest, have owned a few newer Ford's with the Powerstroke, nd I couldn't tell the difference between any of them, nd this one, hey all ran the same, ulled the same, ccelerated the same. etc. etc. Thanks |
