Description of 1968 Ford Mustang |
1968 Shelby GT350is a great driver, ery streetable...anda screamer. This is an original Shelby and Ihave all original documentation (copy of 1968 customer order, ealer invoice from Shelby Automotive), ee pictures of both VIN plates. I will not bore you with all of the original equipment and features, uyers know howthese vehicles are equipped. Shelbyhas never been completely restored buthas had all major systems rebuilt. Paint is acrylic enamel from about 20 years ago and is getting tired but still beautiful pearl-like sheen, ngine was professionally rebuilt by aHolbrook Racing Engines with all specs documented, ransmission was professionally rebuilt with a 1900rpm stall converter, .50 limited-slip rear axle was rebuilt and drive shaft balanced. To the best of my knowledge, ll major parts are original except:exhaust system (has 1967 Shelby cast-iron headers, low Masters, riginal exhaust tips), ater pump, lternator/starter, gnition coil and wires, arpet, aint. Excellent original racing harnesses, onsole lid, eats, omplete interior trim, ages, adio, tc.I have other original parts that go with sale: original steel wheels and wheel covers, orrect original Shelby intake manifold and4bbl carburetor (both restored), og lamp covers, isc small parts. Unique features: The dual quad intake setup may be one of the few to exist. It isan original Shelby Catalogueset with correct Ford manifold and all concourse correct hardware on the carbs. The460cfm correct primary and secondary Holly carbs have matching 1966 date codes!Linkage is not correct for a small block and utilizes a big block 428 setup. Depending on sale price, have a set of small block GT40 aluminum heads still in the Ford box. Issues: There are a few nagging loose wires that will periodically cause loss offunctionality of the oil pressure, oltmeter, nd tach gages. The paint has a couple of semi-repaired gouges on the roof and hood where some material fell during winter storage...approx. 20 years ago. Not extremely noticeable but adds some character. Some small chips/scratches and corrosion places/bubbles that have not gotten worse in the past 15 years. Hate to sell it butI'm moving towards retirement and changing investments. On Aug-28-15 at 23:11:30 PDT, eller added the following information:Confirmed to a bidder todaythat this is absolutelya numbers-matching 1968 Shelby with all correct casting numbers and date codes for major driveline components (block, eads, aterpump, ntake manifold, arburetor, ransmission, ear axle, istributor, teel wheel set). 8-28-15 |
