This 1976 Ford F100 pickup is certainly an unusual find, specially with that brilliant yellow paint job and a thumping 351 under the hood. With a great color combination and no signs of hard labor in its past, t's a unique opportunity to pick up an often overlooked piece of Ford history. You've seen other mid-70s Ford pickups clattering and rattling down the interstate, eld together with wire and duct tape, ut you probably haven't seen one this nice. From the bright yellow paint, hich is not quite how the factory did it, o the beautifully refinished stepside bed, his truck has been well maintained and beautifully preserved almost from day one. The stepside bed gives it a very sporting attitude, s if those bulging fenders were there for performance reasons rather than convenience. Finish quality is quite nice, ith the yellow paint very effectively covering any bits of the original finish, nd we love the way it looks. There's a bit of chrome, ncluding the front bumper, nd we especially like the blacked-out grille and smoothed tailgate which give it a semi-custom look. All the weather seals are new, oo, o it seals up like a new truck. The brown interior offers carpets and fabric seat covers that give the F-100 an upscale feel. The upholstery is actually that funky patterned tweed that was so popular in 1970s luxury cars, nd it looks extra cool in the working-class pickup cab. Everything remains in outstanding condition with very, ery little wear, ven the carpets. The column-shifted automatic transmission is a throwback to an earlier era, ut it moves through the gears neatly and fits this truck's personality just fine. The options list is light, ut that's how it was with pickup trucks in the days before they were luxury cruisers, lthough the AM/FM/cassette stereo is a welcome upgrade. There's also a LeCarrera steering wheel, ull carpets, nd a nice-looking set of instruments for the driver, lus some Sunpro auxiliary dials under the dash. A sliding rear window makes it comfortable inside no matter what you're doing, bviating the need for A/C.Ford's rugged and torquey 351 cubic inch "Cleveland" V8 provides motivation, nd it does just as good a job here as it did in the Mustangs of the 1970s. Of course, t's hard to leave a performance-oriented V8 alone, o it wears a new Edelbrock carburetor atop an Edelbrock intake, lthough both components have been hidden under an open-element air cleaner with a flame pattern on its face. Finned valve covers brighten up the engine bay, nd the Ford Blue paint reminds you who built this one every time you open the hood. With a swell of torque and a wonderful sound from the long-tube headers and dual exhaust system, ou'll enjoy piloting this big truck as much as any vintage muscle car, nd performance is quite good. As you'd expect, he chassis is quite clean, howing only signs of age but not abuse. Four fat 255/70/15 white-letter radials have been fitted to a set of shiny chrome wheels to complete the high-impact look. For those who appreciate something a little out of the ordinary, hile also delivering plenty of performance and fun, his F-100 is for you.
