Description of 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible |
This Mustang is going to be a great project car. Unfortunately for me, don't have the ability to do this work and I don't have the money to pay someone else to do it. What happened is I bought this car from someone across the country, ith the hope to do a restomod driverwithout taking apart a nice show car. The seller had assured me that he had finished all the body work and all it needed was to be painted and reassembled. WhenI finally got the car and hada guy put it on a lift,I found out that the seller had only done the visible exterior work; there'smore to do on the frame under the car. Unfortunately I was too trusting --just be careful about buying a car on ebay from Somerset NJ. From the pictures you can see the floor pans need some more work, s does other areas under the car. The side panels and doors have had work or been replaced, xcept for the passenger front quarter which is original. The engine has been rebuilt and runs well. The car does drive, owever it is a bit bumpy due to either imbalanced tires or the drive shaft is loose (I don't know which). The car has been partially stripped down in preparation for body work. The convertible frame, hrome, ash, nd seats have all been removed but are with the car. Most of the original parts are with the car. Also, had been preparing to finish the car by purchasing a good amount of parts from CJ Pony parts. Included are a new modern harness for the car, ew chrome bumpers and hardware, ew dash instrument panel and other interior components. I have at least $2500 in new parts that come with the car. I am not going to lie to you - this frame needs some work. If you can do the work yourself or if you just want to use parts from the car, hen this is a great chance for you. If you are OK with the underside, hen you can finish the car and drive it all you want. But if you are like me and you don't want to worry about the car rusting from under you, hen you'd need to put the money into getting the frame fixed up better. I'll be happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability. |
