Up for auction today is my Dad's 1963 Galaxie 500. As stated in the auction title it's an original Z-code car. It came from the factory with a 390ci/330hp engine and 4-speed manual transmission, ower steering and power brakes. It is a matching numbers car with the exception of 428 cylinder heads which the previous owner installed. It even has the original Motorcraft 4-barrel carb. We did install an MSD "ready-to-run" distributor after he bought it. The original point-type distributor goes with the car. The 2.5" dual exhaust is practically new. In fact the whole underside of the car looks like new...it is really clean. The chrome and stainless trim is in excellent condition. It has had new glass and rubber seals throughout. The interior has been completely reupholstered. All body panels are original and rust-free with zero body filler. I'm not positive but the paint looks original to me. I'd rate the paint job at 7.5-8, owever if it is original and 52 years old, 'd say it rates a 9. Irregardless, t's not a trailer queen...it gets driven and on several occasions it's been on 150+ mile cruises. It cranks right up without being cold-natured and idles great. I see no reason whatsoever why it couldn't be driven anywhere you please. I really hate to see this car leave but my Dad is selling a couple of his collectibles to pursue another interest. He also has a 1971 F100 Ranger XLT on Ebay at this time that will make anyone proud to own. I didn't add it to that listing but delivery is available at a reasonable fee as long as I am contacted prior to auction's end and arrangements are made, nspection prior to the end of the auction is encouraged...you'll have to look long and hard to find 2 nicer vehicles that are practically show-quality and/or daily drivers. Thank you for your interest and have a blessed day!
