Up for auction is this 1940 Ford Express 1 ton Truck model 01Y 85 hp.I found this truck in the edge of the woods,a farmer had it and had been parked since early 60's.Here in central Ky the weather and mice play havick with the sheetmetal.I used the cab(same as 1/2 ton)and doors for another project and have since found this cab and doors from out west along with a NOS grill that has NO trim.The bottom ls door hinge had been stuck so they just kept using it causing some damage but that has been fixed with new door pins on the ls door.The rs door is working great,both doors have working window regulators and door handle mechanisms.I've included pics of the bottom of the doors,great shape other than a dent on rs and the ls where I fixed it,both doors need door stoppers though!
The cab needs some work yet,you can tell by the pics.The hood has the rust fixed in it and both front fenders EXCEPT the back where they bolt to the running boards,please look at those pics.The truck could also use 36 Ford car fenders,they are just shorter(from ground)in the front.This truck has 1 on the rs and the ls is a stock truck piece,just look at the bumper shot,ls has a notch for the bumper mt!
Flat head is LOCKED up,tranny and driveshaft still there but the rear brakes must be frozen because the wheels do NOT roll!! Its a 8 FOOT bed truck,this truck had a wooden flat bed for hauling hay on! The temp axle can be bought if need be,just easy to roll around that way.Please look at all the pics,THIS IS A PROJECT BUILD with NO TITLE just a bill of sale.I'm selling it to finish another project but this truck would be cool on a later model 1 ton with a diesel!!
