Description of 1988 Ford E-Series Van pathfinder |
This is by far the cleanest 1988 4x4 van I have ever seen. It is a rarePathfinder 4x4conversion.It will not disappoint anyone! I cant find one single spot of rust, he paint is perfect, heundercarriage is like new. It had some minor oil leakage from the valve covers but that has been fixed. The brakes are all new, resh tune up with plugs, ires, ap rotor, cv. Fresh oil and filter, resh trans service. A/c charged and serviced.Runs and drives amazing and tight. The body is without any major blemishes, here are a couple of very minor dingsthat are hardly noticeable. The thing is a 10 out of 10. Interior is spotless, ery little wear and tear, as a bench behind two captains chairs that swivel. otherwise the back is open aside from a carpeted storage area over the wheel wells. The interior floor is carpet and the head liner is felt. No panels on the walls. Its a blank canvas for a camper set up. The original owner kept it in a garage and only used it for camping and family trips. Its never been a daily driver. It has the newer style fuel injected 351 and a c6 trans with adivorced transfercase. Its a super nice van and I dare anyone to find a cleaner one! Sportsmobile wants over $100k for there conversions, his one with a DIY camper kit will go anywhere for less than1/5 of the cost! Drive it home! Read below carefully before bidding! I have been a mechanic for 20 years, am super anal when it comes to my vehicles,I went through this thing from head to toe, wanted it perfect for long trips.*RepairsI haven't got to yet, nbsp;Needs a window switch on drivers side $79 part, eeds trans park gear pawl replaced $39 part, ont stay in park and you must use e-brake but trans shifts and drives fine. The linkage on transfer case needs adjusted or bell crankbushing replaced itshard to get into low with lever but shifts fine when manually shifted frombelow. I can have this stuff done before you pick it up but only if myreserve is met. Or I will discount $500 off final price for these minor repairs. *Please Note :There are two sets of wheels and tireson this van in the photos, ne is a brand new set of Mickey Thompson all terrain tiresand new aluminum Mikey Thompson wheels. The otheris a set of American racing aluminum wheels with goodyear all terrains, he rears are good, ut the fronts are worn. The wheels that are included with the van in this auctionare the older American racing wheels with the worn tires. If you want the brandnew wheels and tires be prepared to add $1500 to the sale price which I just paid for them and they will come on the van and the otherswill be inthe cargo area. E-mail for more pics or info, an is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early if sold. I encourage any buyer to inspect vehicle in person although I am prepared to obtain photo's or video of any little nook or cranny you may want to see. Thanks and happy bidding! On Sep-27-15 at 10:41:29 PDT, eller added the following information: ** I wanted to add thatthere is some confusion about thislistingin some of the questions I have received. To be absolutely clear, he van runs and drives perfectly, have described some repairs that I have not gotten to yet. If you take it "as is" I will take 500 off the final auction price to off set the cost of the repairs. If you want these repaired I will send it to the shop and have the trans park gear repaired. I will order the window switch and install it. I will replace the bushing in the 4x4 linkage. These aresmall issues that I chose to live with, nd did not affect me driving the van at all. *Today, nbsp;I repaired the window switch, cleaned the contacts in the switches, ubricated the window actuator gearsand now allfunctions normally opening and closing both drivers and passengers windows. I also investigatedthe linkage on the transfer case and solved the hard to shift into low problem. The boot was installed improperly causing the rubber to bind up not allowing the shifter to move rearward enough to engage the low gear properly. Both very simple fixes. The only issue that remains is the park gear not locking. I plan to order the part tomorrow and hope to havethat repaired by the end of auction. |
