I was painted a pretty light Gray color. My owner passed on and I went to live with his nephew in Ephrata. WA. I lived there until the late 70’s and then moved to a new home in Seattle. Here they removed my original engine and replaced it with 1949-53 Flathead engine Then they installed a three carb manifold and a racing flywheel I think they wanted to race me (with mechanical brakes and two carbs blocked off ???) Then they painted me 1970 Impala (retch) Blue so we could go to a Ford picnic In 1985 I moved to a new home in Kirkland. WA and moved with them to Desert Aire in 2004. When I first moved to Kirkland I was very noisy and left a puddle of oil whenever I stopped. The new people installed a one carb manifold that quieted me down and stopped the oil leak. These people have done many things to me and I’m not sure they were all necessarily good. Installed hydraulic brakes (good) found only front mechanical brakes were working and just barely at that (bad). Rebuilt my transmission so I could go down steep hills and not pop out of 2nd gear Replaced electric fuel pump with a double action pump so wipers worked going up hills Rebuilt radio so it works and I still use the chicken wire antenna under my rubber roof Installed a Small Block Chevrolet (retch) crate engine and left drive train stock Had a fire while new exhaust system was being installed that caused massive damage Insurance paid for new glass. interior. body work. paint job. miscellaneous parts. etc Elec system converted to 12 V neg ground. but they installed 20 Amp 6 V converter So I can run my original radio. gauges. heater. etc (good). My grille has been restored so it is beautiful now (good).
