Description of 1929 Ford Model A |
Trucks make great hot rods and this 1929 Ford Model A pickup offers all the same tricks as its roadster and coupe siblings with a big slice of practicality of the side. With a Ford steel body and glass fenders it has a wonderful old school look with reliable small block V8 power. Bright red suits the jaunty little pickup bodywork just fine and none of the upright boxy shape has been cut, hopped or otherwise modified. The distinctive Model A grille and hood are neatly rounded and butt up against that upright cab for a wonderful antique look and the bed has perfect proportions. Build quality overall is quite good and while it was finished several years ago it shows only minor signs of use and a great shine that always gets a lot of attention at shows. Better than most with doors that have a solid sound when you close them. The fenders wrap around the wheels tightly for that old-school look and the formerly nickel plated model A trim has been painted body color for a cool hot rod look. The bed is trimmed in real oak planks. The interior has a bench seat wrapped in 2 tone vinyl with matching door panels to give it a finished look. It has tilt wheel, /C, arpet, and AM/FM cassette stereo. The lokar shifter for the TH350 3-speed automatic transmission replicates the original Model A handle and the windshield still tilts open. The engine is a tried and true 350 cu inch Chevy V8. Polised aluminum pieces are used throughout to make it sparkle. It has an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor on a polished intake manifold. The chassis is by Roy Brizio with front power disc brakes, nd an 8 inch Ford out back hanging off a 4 link with coil -covers. It has aluminum wheels with blackwall radials. |
