Description of 1976 Ford F-250

Up for auction, T NO RESERVE, s a very desirable 1976 Ford F-250 4 x 4 Highboy. It is not very often a 1976 Highboy is found that has not either been over-restored or beat into submission. The truck does notqualify as a "Survivor" but is respectable enough to establish a new class — "The Working Class" ! This highboy is a 99% rust free one owner California truckwith the desirable Ranger XLT package and factory air! The truck runs and drives great! Drive and enjoy while doing a much deserved restoration!

I purchased this truck from the original owner's grandson who was given the truck when his grandfather passed away. I know several folks thatknew the Grandfather and they have told me this truck was his pride and joy! According to them, e used the truck but always kept it maintained.

The paint and body are 100% original with absolutely NO RUST in the cab, enders or box sides. Almost unheard of for these highboys! Unfortunately the original owner had installed a propane tank near the cab (in the bed) and a fifth wheel hitch and allowed leaves and moisture to collect under both. As a result, here is rust at both those locations in the floor of the bed (see Photo). The truck is very useable as is (a bedliner has been installed) but you would want to repair the bed if a full restore was being done (panels for the bed floor are available). The truck has been used but not abused, s a truck should be, or most of its life and is ready for paint and some minor body work. If you look closely at the photos you will see light dents and dings in several locations. There is no major damage but certainly 39 years of bruises you would expect on a truck. . The tailgate is not the original and a slightly different color. The inner wheel wells are bumped up from years of service. What is really cool is the Patina on the hood and the top of the box accenting the original paint! All chrome is in place and in fair to good condition.

The interior is also very original and in very good condition considering its age. It is important to note the interior is lightly worn as one would expect for a 39 year old truck but not beat like typically seen in vehicles that have been abused. The headliner and visors are fine as are the metal painted surfaces. The carpet is all there, s clean, ut is ready to be replaced. The seat is original and very solid but does have wear spots both where the passenger sits as well as the driver. The seat foam and structure are very solid but the original cover is showing wear as previously noted. I love these old trucks but they have to be tidy — This interior is so original and clean it is just cool!! The door panels are original and nice, he dome light works as does the exterior cargo light! Seat belts are all there and operational as is the glove box compartment. The truck is equipped with an AM/FM 8-Track. The tuner works but I have never checked the 8-Track. The dash pad is in place but does have the typical linear cracking — Again the dash is not destroyed, ust cracked.

The truck runs and drives nicely. Clutch feels good, rakes are good (new power brake booster and master cylinder), ower steering has a slight wine but seems to work fine and motor runs good. . Trans shifts smoothly and engaging and disengaging the transfer case is very easy. Hubs engage and disengage as they should. Truck has a very nice sounding new exhaust. The oil and temp gauge work erratically, he gas gauge seems to read off slightly but the temp gauge works fine. Auxiliary fuel tank is not connected at this time

The undercarriage shows light grease and grime from years of use but not the dents, rips and bends from years of abuse. AND NO RUST! The frame, ifferentials and housings have not been repainted — You are seeing the truck in its original state! There is no undercoating sprayed anywhere on this truck hiding any damage or rust.

What does the truck need to be a nice daily driver? The gauges checked out (a spare cluster comes with the truck for parts), he horn operating, nd, epending where you live, he A/C hooked up and operable

Drive and enjoy as you restore or strip her down and do a frame off restoration — The truck is well worth the time, ffort and investment! You see these highboys fully restored (and not done very nicely! God only knows what is hiding under that shiny paint and those chrome engine pieces) going for well over $10,000 with no indication of how the "Bones"of the truck were before the rebuild started.

This truck has great "Bones" . I currently have 5 of these trucks but am thinning them out to pursue other interests. This 1976 Highboy is really the only one I have not had the opportunity to perform a well deserved and worthwhile restoration. It would have and, opefully, ill be stunning!

This is a noreserve auction! Do not miss this one; they do not come along very often!

I encourage anyone interested in bidding on this truck to call me and ask questions. I have tried my best to describe the truck but things are forgotten or lost in translation, ND expectations sometimes do not align with reality. A good little chat will go a long ways in making certain the transaction is as smooth as possible. Please feel free to call Dean at 661-703-8402 with any questions.

I reserve the right to end this auction early as the truck is also for sale locally.

Thanks and Happy Bidding!!!!!
