Description of 1928 Ford Other |
This auction is for a 1928 Ford roadster on a 32 ford framethat I acquired thru a deal several years back. The car has been sitting in a little barn in the hills of Orange County for the past ten years. Last month I pulled it out and did a few things to it and now it is back on the road. The car was built by a private party in the high desert, don't know much more then that. It does run, rive and brake as I have been driving it to work and back thepast two weeks which is a thirty five minute drive one way. The carbs work but I think with a proper tune up the car would run better. It just seems to have a lag in acceleration when you punch it. I did do a compression check and all cylinders are over 100 pounds. Last month I installed a new battery, oil, park plugs and fresh gas. The car has a 1969 Chevy Z28 motor with four bolt main. The transmission is a turbo 350 trans and the rear end is a ford. The car stops very well and the steering is nice and tight. The headlights and tail light all work as they should. You can get in this car and havea great time just the way it is or do with it as you please. Please note that I want to be clear to people that this car is a fun daily driver and not a show car. The price reflects this and you are welcome to see the car in person during the auction. Copy and paste this to see a short video of the car running and driving. https://youtu.be/R3LKCWIvGo0 The Good Points -Car runs, rives and stops -No motor knocks -Transmission seems to be in great shape -No major leaks or overheating issues -Nice interior with comfortable seats -Headlights and tail lights work -V8 power train and automatic transmission -Clear 1928 Ford title in my name -Car is on a 32 Ford frame. -Not all rusted out -New battery, oil, lug wires and plugs. -Air shocks are used for the rear end. -Banjo steering wheel. The Bad Points -The carbs need to be adjusted better. I'm not a mechanic so it should be done by a person with experience in this area. -The carbs appear to be epoxied onto the manifold. Not sure why or what the story is but if you look real close it looks to me that they have an epoxy coming out of the base where they meet the manifold. -The decklid has some rust out on the inner lower lip area -The doors have seen better days and they could use body work. The fit is not bad but not great. -The car has a burgundy satin finish. It would need to have professional body work done to be paint finished. -The rear inner fender wells are replacements and if you look real close you can see the tack welds. No one has noticed but I think buyers should know this fact. -No speedometer. This is an auction. Please ask me questions and I will answer you in a timely manner. I'm going to let the auction run in it's entirety and let the highest bidder win. |
