History
T-Bird has been stored in Hollywood for the last 35 years. Placed in a locked single car garage that is completely enclosed, ool, ry and sheltered. It has not seen the sun or been moved. On auto stands. Battery removed.
1960-1969) My mother purchased this vehicle used on September 10, 960 from Shellee Motors, A. License No. MLK864.
California plates now missing. Original Auto Sales Order, -10-60. Used as commuter-to-work vehicle.
1970-1972 Stored in Hawaii. Original Certificate of Nonoperation.
1973-1982 My mother loaned the T-Bird to the Hawaiian relatives for their transportation needs.
1983-2015 Finally placed in My mother's Hollywood garage and then forgotten. No paperwork or DMV. My mother gave the T-Bird to me, br> her son, n 1984 with a verbal agreement. I just left the Bird to rest in peace and did nothing to it.
Why
My mother owns the house with the garage that has the T-Bird in it. She has Alzheimer's and has moved to an assisted living home. The house is going on the market and all personal property is being removed. I have the duty to sell her house assets and clear out all items.
DMV info
I made an appointment with the DMV about the status of the T-Bird (P5FH169302). A computer record check conducted by the DMV showed that this T-Bird is off the official records in the California DMV data base. Because the T-Bird has dropped-off the records, and for such a long long time, t will have to be registered with a new Title and there is no problem with the DMV issuing it. Antique vehicles that are lost and then found are treated as new by the DMV, o back or late registration charges will be assessed. This means "low cost" for the paperwork. I'm giving an educated guess about the cost of registration... $100... so don't hold me to that. No smog needed.
If you are the winning bid, can give you info to blog about how other people registered their antique vehicles.
If you buy this vehicle, dvise you register it after restoration to save on registration costs.
The California DMV needs to physically see the T-Bird to verify that there is really such a vehicle, s well as the following:• Application for Title or Registration (DMV form REG 343)
• Vehicle/Vessel Transfer and Reassignment Form (DMV form REG 262)
• Statement of Facts (DMV form REG 256)
• Certificate of Non-Operation (DMV REG 102)
• Bill of Sale
