1993 Ford Mustang Cobra-R. Here is a Rare Chance to own a very limited production #66 of 107 with only 2477 Actual Miles. Well Documented and Registered Cobra-R. Here is a re-cap for those who may not be familiar:

A Cobra R model was also produced in 1993. It featured larger brakes (13" directionally vented front and 10.5 radially vented rear compared to 10.84 vented front and 10.7 vented rear), oni shocks and struts, n engine oil cooler, power steering cooler, nd a factory rear seat delete. The wheels were 17" 5-lug wheels, hich were available for the '94 Mustang as an option, ainted gloss black. Since the Cobra "R" was race oriented, ptions such as air conditioning and a stereo system were not offered. The car also did not come with a warranty. Each of the 107 produced were offered in Vibrant Red only. The price of the R was $26,692 as opposed to $21,578 for the standard Cobra.

Ford wanted to make sure that these limited edition models of the Cobra were not put away in some collector's garage. Thus every buyer had to have an active and valid racing license in order to be able to buy one of these cars.

They made 4993 Regular Cobras, ut only 107 "R" . This means this I the rarest Cobra ever built and the most valuable of the ultra exclusive Cobra R club.

According to Thomas Schreiner and Peter Sessler's SVT Mustang Cobra Recognition Guide, ord started accepting orders for the Cobra R at 8:30 am on April 15, 993. By noon, hey were sold out, ven with orders restricted to "sanctioned competition use only."

The '93 "R" was a bare bones bad ass Mustang that was meant for one thing. Racing. To save weight this competition model was stripped of all but it's bare essentials including air conditioning, ear carpeting and the radio system with it's speakers, mps, nd wiring. To further save weight they eliminated all sound dampening insulation, arpet padding, nd body seam sealer. Also since a race car rarely needs rear seats they were removed with the seat belts, nd seat brackets to further remove weight which also made this the only factory production Fox Body Mustang ever to come as a two seater.

For weight savings, obra R builds deleted the fog lights, adio, ir conditioning, ower windows, ower mirrors, ound deadener, nd undercoating. The rear seat was also left out, eplaced by a fiberboard panel and carpet. Because the wheel for the Mustang's standard "donut" space-saver spare tire would not clear the larger brakes, he Cobra Rs came with a full-size wheel and tire, hich barely fit in the rear compartment.

All 107 '93 Cobra Rs were painted Vibrant Red. They can be visually identified by their black dual three-spoke 17-inch wheels (a preview of the 1994 Mustang GT's optional wheels), ack of fog lights, nd radio delete antenna cover on the passenger side front fender.
