Description of 1931 Ford Model A

A genuine Ford all metal 1931 coupe with 84 Ford V6 engine A Very Low Realistic Reserve
A very well done conversion that could be better with power steering, nd disc brakes. The vehicle can go a bit fast for the handling ability of 1931 type suspension. It is fine "as is"for Model A club touring and it looks correct. The title is clear and matches the vin number which is on the frame under the left front fender. This is a perfect car for a clever back yard mechanic who can appreciate and do old car modifications along with repairs.
The car has a 1984 Ford Ranger good running used V6 engine with very good oil pressure and mated to a rebuilt Ford C-4 automatic transmission and is currently registered in California as a 1931 Model A Ford. It is a rust free, nbsp;always California owned vehicle with only minor surface rust. The sheet metal is original metal that is extremely nice and straight like the factory built it. The good original 11 gallon gas tank is used with an electric fuel pump. All wiring circuits are fused. A 30 amp 12 volt converter to 6 volts powers the original Spartan horn and the after market 6 volt electric windshield wiper. A tool box is located behind the front bumper in the splash apron space. This is a convenient trunk model car having a huge amount of luggage space which I prefer over a rumble seat model. All glass is good, he two doors and trunk lid lock with keys. Yes, he side windows do roll up and down quite well.It has new 1940 Lincoln style brakes on the front and 1940 Ford 12 inch drum brakes on the rear. A new aluminum radiator is installed along with a very good electric fan that seldom comes on since the motor runs cool. The fan turns on automatically at about 180 and can be turned on or off by a hidden toggle switch. The engine starts by engaging a hidden spring loaded toggle switch. A Garmin GPS is used as a speedometer or navigation The original Model A steering, ighting switc, teering wheel still are in use. The 3.78 gear ratio Model a rear end has been converted to an open drive type. New tube shocks are neatly mounted on front and rear. The original headlights and tail lights use 12 volt light bulbs with offset tabs like the original 6 volt ones. An expensive Braille 12 volt battery is installed under the passenger floorboard. There are five powder coated 16 inch wheels with new radial tires and tubes. An expensive custom made black carpet is the floor mat rather than the original rubber mat because of the C-4 transmission spacing difference. It does have the neat Lockar type shifting lever. The engine will start in any gear as the included lock out switch has not been wired. It has a new dual master cylinder. The seat and backrest upholstery appear to be reproduction vintage about 1965 and are in good condition. A local Model A restorer told me that the door panels, ick panels, nd headliner seem to be original 1931, ut who knows. A remote transmission oil cooler is utilized rather than heat the radiator water. All new two inch exhaust pipe and quiet muffler are very neatly installed. The paint has an acceptable appearance and adds to the vintage appearance that I wanted to keep. Some paint fade by the gas cap. The chrome is not perfect but just right for my purpose. For safety a manual turn signal switch is on the steering column. Because of having an automatic transmission I did not install the hand brake but all the parts are there for you to fit the hand lever somewhere. The engine distributor is conventional point,/condenser, oil type. The carburetor is a rebuilt motor-craft 2100 perfect for this size 2.8 motor. The alternator is a 110 amp General Motor item. The front and rear four bar parts are from Speedway motors. It has oil pressure, mmeter, nd oil pressure gauges.
