Description of 1929 Ford Model A Open Cab Truck |
I am selling this vehicle for a friend who did much of the restoration himself. He is serious about selling it and has asked me to drop the price $10,000 andrelist it. The truck has 1134 miles on it, nly 1000 miles in the last eight years and this is the reason he wants to sell it. He no longer has time to drive and maintain it. The truck is a rust free California vehicle which was stored in a barn for over 40 years. Basically all that was needed body work wise, as to sand blast and paint. The back of the cab had two small dents. The bed was exceptionally clean with no dents. The rust "divots" in the bed were left to show it was original and untouched. The "headboard" has a slight bend, eft alone for the same reason. The panel under the tail gate was replaced as some one had butchered a large hole in it. There were two 5/16 inch holes in the bed which were utilized to bolt in the Tool Box. It was made from a reproduction tail gate. Tool box is used for storing the soft cloth truck cover which is included. The truck is a 1928 Body style that was sold as a 1929, hich happened frequently back then. The difference is the 28 had no outside door handle but used the 27 T type door locks. A long lever on the inside of the door was pushed back to open the door lock. The personalized license plate frames and Miss Half Fast sign do not go with the car. The Historical Vehicle plates do if sold to a California buyer. The front axle is a More Drop with a 6 inch drop. It has 1940 NOS Motor Wheel out board mounting drums with 1940 hubs and 12 by 1 3/4" 1941style Lincoln hydraulic brakes. It has standard 48 Ford tie rod ends. The master cylinder is mounted on the battery box. It is from a 54 Ford F100. The spare wheel is rare...manufactured by Kelsey Hayes in mid thirties uses 6.00 by 16 tires. The rear axle is a standard unit with 3:78 gears. The rear brakes are from a 41 ford. New repo drums, and brake hardware, orque tube radius rods and drive shaft all reworked to aaccommodatea 1984 Ford F 150 4 speed with 22% overdrive transmission. The 4 cylinder Ford block has a Denver Miller Cast Iron conversion head on it, ith a Weber 32 36 Carburetor with intake manifold, inkage and bell crank. The cast Iron exhaust header was designed by DukeHillock in the early 30s. The engine is fully pressurized with inserted rods, ains and rocker arms. It has a MalleryUnlite electronic 12 volt distributor, 2 volt GM alternator with draft tube off the oil inlet tube, long with all new 12 volt starter. It has an electric fuel pump. The motor has a healthy sound to it. The engine puts out adequate horse power to easily keep up with highwaytraffic, specially with the 4 speed tranny with overdrive. Thesteering setup is from a 1955 Ford F100 using NOS parts. Theupholstery is custom leather using Datzkin Leather Vinyl Doeskin highly detailed and simply beautiful... The top is Hartz Bison #2438 Bisque leather, tunning!! All high quality workmanship. The truck is equipped with black seat belts. There is storage room under the seats... The wheels are powder coated Tacoma Creme with red body pin strips. They were custom made to fit 15 inch radial tires. They are Nankang N803 145/R15 785 Radials. The paint is excellent, one right with no short cuts... The color is PPG Concept DMC 917 Red with PPG Concept DCC 9300 Black. Attention to the smallest detail was given and the result shows, truly outstanding gorgeous truck. If you have questions feel free to email or call. I will talk to the owner and post the answers on this description. If you live in Northern California you are invited to see the truck in person or send some one to view it for you if you live out of the area. You will not bedisappointed. Everything was done right to a very high degree of precision. Thank you... |
