Description of 1989 Ford F-350 |
Ford F350 Crew Cab 4X4 Long Bed I have a unique truck for sale. This is titled as 1989 F-350 but the front-end (hood, rill, enders) is from 1985 F350, he bed is from a 1994 Ford truck. The engine, ell the engine is a 1991 Cummins 6BT aka 12V. It came from a military-surplus generator that had very low hours. There are no computers. Everything is mechanical including the injector pump. There is an 80-gallon transfer tank and (1) 19gal and (1) 17gal fuel tanks so you have quite a lot of diesel fuel online. The 80-gallon transfer tank is plumbed into the filler tube of the front fuel tank. There is an inline fuel filter on the transfer tank that I added to prevent sediment and contamination. The transmission was replaced in 2012 (Ford ZF S5-32) 5-speed manual with a fully-rebuilt and guaranteed unit. The drive train is in excellent condition. There is a brake controller installed and the last time I used it was working fine. I can't test it now though but I towed something with electric brakes about 8-months ago and it worked then. The tires are 35" 35x12.50 (5-tires spare with matching wheel) are in very good condition. I tried to keep them rotated but one of the 5 has a bit more rubber than the others proving I obviously didn't rotate them often enough. When I first got the truck I also had the steering box and the fabric coupler replace so the steering is nice and tight. I recently replaced a U-joint in May 2015. The brakes were replaced in Oct 2014 along with a new radiator. The 4WD works great. The truck has manual locking hubs. I had the transfer case linkage rebuilt as well so it's shifting very tight and precise. The injector pump was replaced in early 2015 (it has a lifetime warranty.) There is also a an electric lift pump I installed when I started having issues that turned out to be the injector pump so you don't even need it, uns well without it (I still use it, was told it reduces the strain on the injector and mechnical lift pumps.) This truck has a dual-battery configuration. The truck bodywork was done (had a few dings) and it was repainted at a high-quality body shop in 2012. The old truck bed was removed, nd replaced. Several of the frame spacers and one under the cab were replaced and then the new truck bed was installed. The interior needs work, eeds a new front seat. The rear seat needs to be reupholstered. The two front interior door panels were replaced with new panels. You would want to replace the carpet as well so plan on just refurbishing it to complete the build of this truck. I have all the receipts from all the work. The truck has very little miles on it since the engine was replaced as I work from home and don't travel much. This is the most powerful vehicle I have ever owned. You are welcome to visit, nspect and test drive. I really encourage you to drive it above 70MPH just to find out why having a Cummins 6BT is really something. I am selling this locally so I do reserve the right to simply end the auction if it is sold. Thanks On Oct-30-15 at 21:16:08 PDT, eller added the following information: I made a mistake in the title it has 35" wheels not 36" (the description has the right info.) I keep getting asked if it is drivable. I have been driving this since 2011. It is currently tagged and insured and was my only truck until recently. The transfer tank and all the other tanks are full and I keep them full. Someone said it looked like there was no front-seat. I guess people don't remember bench seats. The truck has been driven to northern california from new mexico at least 3-times since 2011 and even local errands are 300+ miles round trip. I make regular runs to Albuquerque and Show Low Arizona several times a month. I live 100-miles from a grocery store or a hospital so it has to be reliable... It is a reliable and dependable vehicle and only needs a bit left to fully restore (interior) You are all welcome to visit me and check it out including driving it for 30-40 miles around the area to see what it can do. If you look at my feedback rating, have been on ebay since 1999. I added some new pictures. Someone had asked for pictures of the interior and under the truck. |
