Description of 1969 Ford Mustang |
For your consideration is one Big Bad Beautiful 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 S-Code Fast Back with 64. 00+ Original miles! This black beauty still sports "All" of its Original 8004 numbered body panels which have been Re-covered in the Very Rare Raven Black exterior A5 Ford #1724-A paint color which the car was Originally born with! There were a total of only 3. 26 Sportroof Mustangs produced in 1969 with this particular paint code and of those only 1. 59 total Sportroof Mustangs produced in 1969 with this particular Trim Code combination! To give you a better idea of just how rare the Trim Code combination really is on this particular car there were a total of 134. 38 Sportroof Mustangs produced in 1969 which included Standard. Deluxe and Mach 1 Sportroof Mustangs with some 299. 24 total Mustangs having been produced in 1969! The paint has a very high luster to it and has had a total of 10 coats of clear added with the hood having the correct factory spec blackout treatment added including the blackout pin striping! The car still sports its 100% Original Deluxe Black Clarion Knit / Vinyl Mach 1 High Back Bucket Seat Interior as well! Even the carpet in the car is 100% Original to the car and is fully in tact including the Original red rubber colored floor mat inserts which were exclusive to the Mach 1 Sportroof Mustangs! The car has never been in any accidents and is 100% Free from body rot or rust with both torque boxes and "All" floor panels being 100% original to the car being undamaged and still retaining their Original Factory Ford applied undercoating which was added to the underside of the car by Ford back when it was Originally produced at the San Jose production plant originally based in San Jose California! This car is a highly optioned car being originally ordered from Ford with the following options: C-6 Cruise-O-Matic Transmission. Visibility Group. F70X14 Traction Tires w/ Raised White Letters. Sport Deck Rear Seat. Power Front Disc Brakes. Power Steering. Air Conditioner - Selectaire. AM/FM Stereo Radio. Tinted Glass - Complete. Deluxe Belts / Warning Light and Tachometer. According to the Original Marti Report that I have the car was actually produced on January 31st 1969 - Seven Days Behind Schedule! This car is an Original S-Code 390 Big Block C6 Cruise-O-Matic car of which there were only a total of 4. 68 Sportroof Mustangs produced in 1969 with this Engine / Transmission combination! Ok. that basically covers the production information on the car now for the details both good and bad for this particular car. The car no longer has its original drive train in it which includes the original date code correct S-Code 390 motor. C6 Cruise-O-Matic transmission and 3. 00 standard rear end and axles. The original A/C system is not complete or hooked up and is therefore not currently functional or operational. According to the history that I have on the vehicle and being the 5th owner of the car and having access to all the names of the previous owners with the exception of the original owner which I have a short history of but no name. The way I understand it is that the original owner/ purchaser of the vehicle ended up giving the car to his daughter sometime back in 1973 at which time the gas crisis was in full swing and it was apparently decided at that time by the father to remove the original drive train which included the original S-Code 390 Big Block motor and C6 transmission from the car in favor of adding a smaller more economical 351W Windsor Small Block motor and C4 automatic transmission combination with the original rear end remaining in the car. At one point I thought about trying to see if I could track down the original owner and or the where abouts of the original drive train for the car but I never really got around to doing it. The 351W Windsor motor was eventually removed in favor of a built '71 date code 351CJ motor which was Originally removed from a 1972 De Tomaso Pantera! Additionally at the very same time a pro built Small Bell C6 transmission with "All" Original 428CJ C6 transmission internal parts was added as well including a Very Rare Original 428CJ C6 Cast Iron tail piece! The original 3. 00 Standard factory rear end which was still in the car at this time was also swapped out in favor of adding a Strange Engineering Racing rear end with 3:11 gears. The Ford 28 Spline axles that originally came with the car were also swapped out in favor of the heavy duty Ford 31 Spline axles. The good news is that I ended up acquiring the Original 3. 00 standard rear end "with original tag" and Original 28 spline rear axles that came with the car from the previous 3rd owner of the car who was actually the one responsible for adding the built 1972 351CJ. C6 Small Bell 428CJ Automatic Transmission and Strange rear end & 31 Spline axles in the first place. This previous owner who was actually the 3rd owner of the vehicle was also responsible for adding an electric fuel pump system. external transmission cooler with braided cooler lines. Original Shelby rear stabilizer bars and sub frame extenders that are currently installed on the vehicle. The rear spring lifts were added by the 4th owner that I bought the car from back in 2007. Unfortunately the 4th owner had been given all of the original A/C parts from the 3rd owner but had decided that he didn't want to keep them and threw them all away which was a bummer but at least he did decide to hold onto the original wheels and tires which included the original beauty rings and caps that came with the car even though he had decided to ad aftermarket wheels and tires to the car which I ended up removing in favor of putting the original wheels back on the car! Below is some additional detailed build information on the very strong running 351CJ motor that is currently installed in the car that I acquired from the 3rd owner who's father worked for Ford all his life as an engineer and had personal access to many people directly involved in Ford Motor Sports: * Crane Roller Rocker arm valve train added - believed to be Part # 27750-16 * Original Ford Large Port 4V ( Closed Chamber ) heads with added Milodon Stainless steel valves The Matched casting date codes on heads are 0L16 & 0L21 ( Nov 16th 1970 & Nov 21 1970 ) * Nitrated. The block is also stamped on the bottom edge where the oil pan bolts up with a number of 830713 Additionally there is a number of 2H115505 stamped into the side of the block which is believed to be a partial vin#* New Reproduction 351CJ A/T Flexplate with proper counter balance weight unique to the 351CJ Motor added* Rebuilt Original Factory Small High Stall Torgue Converter added* Hooker Headers added - High Heat Painted* Ultra Coil added* MDS Distributor & Ignition Module added* Moroso Blue Max Spiral Core Ignition Wires added* Holley 600CFM Side-Feed Carburetor added* Edelbrock Torker 351 Aluminum Manifold added* Chrome Plated Alternator added* Engraved Chrome Plated Valve Covers w/ K & N Crank Case Breathers added* Chrome Plated Air Cleaner w/ K & N Air Filter added* New Aluminum 4-Core Radiator added Below is additional detailed Information with respect to the ( 4V ) heads on the engine Note: ( The cast part numbers on heads are not visible due to them being located under their respective intake deck ) Head Chamber Portsize Intakevalve Exhaustvalve Application Four barrel(4V) Closed61. 3-64. 3cc Large 2. 19" 1. 71" 1970/71 351C-4VD0AE-G. -M. -N. -R. D1AE-GA The heads on the engine are the earlier '70/71 351CJ heads which have the ( Closed Chamber ) design. The '70 ( 4V ) ( Closed Chamber ) "Quench heads" have a higher compression and were also designed by Ford to be used with adjustable rockers where as the later '72 351CJ-4V heads would have utilized the ( Open Chamber ) design and would have utilized non-adjustable rockers as well. See additional Information below: 351 CJ Open73. 9-76. 9cc Large 2. 19" (71/72)2. 05" (73/74) 1. 71" (71/72)1. 65" (73/74) 1971 351 CJ1972/74 351C-4VNote: I have not actually dino tested the motor but based on the information provided to me by the 3rd owner the motor is currently putting out somewhere around 350+ horsepower. The rare original optional tachometer located in the factory instrument cluster is currently disabled due to the addition of a functional aftermarket tachometer which is currently attached to the upper part of the steering column. Some additional details with respect to the condition of the original interior of the car the original padded A/C dash panel has some age cracks located in the central area of the dash where the center speaker grille holes are located. The original drivers seat cushion cover has an age split located between where the outer edge of the lower bottom seat cushion cover meets the the inner part of the outer side seat bolster. Other than these flaws there are no other additional issues with respect to the condition of the interior of the car with the original head liner. carpet and rear seats being in excellent condition. The original Rim-Blow steering wheel is in excellent condition as well being free from cracks with the only flaw being the fact that the horns are not presently functioning which I believe is due to the Rim-Blow strip on the steering wheel needing to be replaced though it is not cracked or torn anywhere that I can find. The exterior paint on the car is in over all excellent condition as well with the only minor flaws being a some light scattered scuffs that could be buffed out or polished out if desired and one small chip in the left front fender which could be touched up plus some blisters around the edge of the base of the drivers side outside door mirror plus a couple of additional small spots located around the outer edge of the quarter panel vent scoops where they meet the body. These small blister areas are not due to rust but are apparently due to the paint shrinking a bit while it was in the process of curing. The only true blistering / rasied spot that I can find under the paint is located in the lower bottom edge of the drivers door toward the rear but it's not really that noticeable unless you are down on your knees and right up on it. All of the tinted glass is original to the car and is in excellent over all condition as well with the only minor flaws being a couple of windshield wiper scuffs in the front windshield. All of the chrome and stainless on the car is in nice shape as well being nice and bright with the only flaws being a few scattered scuffs in the bumpers and a few small dents in the rain gutter molding in the outer edge of the roof just above the drivers door. The 3rd owner who was additionally responsible for the one and only re-paint on the car opted not to install the original stainless steel rocker side moldings or chrome plated hood scoop engine identification badges on the car. Additionally with respect to the hood scoop itself apparently the larger CFM Holley carburetor that was originally installed on the motor had thrown a few flames and heat blistered the paint in the area of the air cleaner just under the hood which also in turn heated up the blackout paint located under the hood scoop as well which caused the paint under the hood scoop to heat blister. shrink and crack. I must stress however that the above mentioned paint flaws basically go unnoticed due to the over all beautiful condition of the paint on the hole car and could be quite easily repaired if desired. I have given as much detailed information as I can with respect to the over all condition of the car but if there is any additional information that is needed please feel free to email me.
