The correct color code YV. light smoke metallic looks amazing on this F150 body and was a popular choice in the '80s. Accented by a subtle pin stripe. the gray finish gives this long-bed a sophisticated presence. The paint is shiny and well-maintained. with a distinct look that conveys this truck was regularly detailed and the overall condition of this truck lends itself to have lived an easy life inside somewhere. The XLT Lariat trim package added a pleasing amount of brightwork to the truck. and all of it remains in very good to excellent condition. from the wheel well moldings to the big chrome bumpers to the brushed stainless steel tailgate insert. Inside is Ford's upscale XLT Lariat interior. which features period correct gray plaid upholstery and woodgrained trim on the dash to give it a more luxurious feel. It's 100% original. and even the bench seat shows only light modest wear. There's a big rubber floor mat protecting the original carpets that still retain the factory plastic. so they're still in great shape. There's a complete array of gauges in the dash. factory A/C. power windows and locks. and a sliding rear window for easy ventilation when A/C isn't needed. Even the original AM/FM/cassette stereo system remains in place and still holds the Ford demo cassette tape. The door panels remain quite good and include a handy map pocket. Ford's venerable 5. 0 liter V8 is under the hood. and it's a great choice in the F150. It neatly straddles the line between power and economy. and makes great V8 sounds while it goes about its business. Even Ford's trucks were fuel injected early on. and the tall intake manifold on this one was designed to make low-end torque. which is. of course. a truck's bread-and-butter. It's quite tidy under the hood. with signs of regular maintenance. It's mated to a rugged 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission to channel the power and it sits in a clean undercarriage. In fact. everything has remained very well preserved. Power steering and power brakes keep hauling duties a simple task. It's not too uncommon to find a '91 F150 in your local classifieds. but finding one in this well of condition is near impossible.
