Description of 1970 Ford Torino

You are bidding on a 1970 Torino Cobra 2 door hardtop Sportsroof. This is a one-owner car that has never been offered for sale since the original purchase, t runs and drives as designed. This original survivor 1970 Torino Cobra 429, span>is a matching number car. Of course, he engine is original. It was purchased new from Wilkerson Motors, small dealership in Ash Grove MO, n 1969 and my brother, he original owner, s now offering this very rare car for sale.

There is what appears to me to be a small area of light surface rust under the paint in front of the two rear tires, his should be easily be repaired. See photo.

This Cobra still has the original carpet. It was re-painted its original color in the 80's and though it is very presentable (as you can see in the pictures) it is an older paint job and does have some minor wear.

I have provided a copy of the original new car window sticker in the pics along with a picture of this car featured on the front cover of Fairlainer Magazine's 2002 Christmas issue.

This car belongs to brother Pat. My other brother Mike and I are selling this car, e will be happy to answer any questions you may have about this very rare and highly sought-after collector car. If you have questions I can't answer I'll contact Mike and he can provide any information needed.

PAYMENT TERMS: The successful bidder is required to send a $500 deposit via PayPal which will be credited toward the purchase within 48 hours of close of auction. If you are unwilling to perform and pay the balance, he deposit is non-refundable. We ask that you pick up the car within 10 days from the end of the auction. If more time is needed we will work with the buyer. The balance will be due at time of pick-up or shipping. If you plan to pick up the vehicle yourself you will need to arrive during the week and during banking business hours. We cannot accept any payment other than cash during a weekend. I had a question today: Someone asked if the automatic transmission had been added. It was not added but I see why he asked. On the sticker at the upper end it says "FOUR SPEED TRANSMISSION". If you look, ou will see below that in the options, t then says "SELECT-SHIFT CRUISE-O-MATIC".

This car came with automatic transmission from the factory. Our parents wanted my mother to be able to drive the car and she needed an automatic. It was purchased in the fall of 1969 back when car dealers still provided customer service. The Cobra was ordered with the options desired. I assume that "four speed" language was stock on the sticker than below in the extra cost catagory, he automatic transmission (which cost an additional $39) was added. But the car came from the factory with an automatic transmission. I know, was there when it was delivered.

Correction: at the end of the payment terms I referred to the vehicle as the "bike". I copied and pasted text on terms from an auction from last month when we sold a motorcycle and I missed that word. So no, t's not a bike...yes, t is a Cobra. :>)

I also wanted to add that regarding any past damage, here has never been any significant damage done to the car. It has had a couple of minor body repairs, aybe 40 years ago, hat were done but I didn't even remember it and my brother told me tonight. In an effort of full disclosure, e wanted to make this known. The care was never in any accident, hese were a couple of small dents or fender scrapes, hat kind of thing. It's always been drive-able, o major accidents, o wrecks.
