Are you looking for that unmolested survivor 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger that would be an easy winter project? This is it... a locally owned, 977 Ford F150 Ranger pickup truck. It also features the RARE OEM Ford issue truck cap.
This survivor is very original and unmolested down to the AM FM radio in the dash. It is complete aside from the one radio knob which we ordered an original that will be included. The manual, arranty sheet, ack, pare tire and the right color scheme make this a very special truck. Below is a video collection of the truck:

This vehicle has been well maintained and appears to be nearly all original. It retains the original wheels and hub caps that will be included, s well as the later rally wheels that are on the truck. The steel wheels have Duralon tires that appear to be in good shape but are probably old. It has had a repaint (jambs appear original as does under hood and tailgate area). It is an original red truck with red interior as shown on the tag.
You can also see the vehicle has not had many miles driven in the last 25 years. While it could pass for 25,000 miles, e believe it may have turned over although it was a farm truck so miles would be hard to prove either way.
Cosmetically, he paint is decent with some minor peeling on the hood. The repaint was a semi-professional job where much of the moulding was left on the truck. The interior is very nice aside from the door panels (they reproduce them for $200), nd the carpeting (very inexpensive to replace). Note how clean the truck is behind the seat as well. We would also replace the ugly rear bumper with a chrome reproduction, nd probably remove the cap.
Note how clean the truck is underneath. We have seen trucks in much worse shape and we did not detect much in filler. Note how clean the hood and tailgate lips are. The windshield has a small crack but the other glass is great.
We tested many of the components and found the courtesy lights, ipers, adio, ost exterior lights and the fan work, he 4 way flashers also function, he directionals are intermittent. The gauges all appeared to work including the fuel gauge. The bench seat, eadliner and dash pad are superb. We did not test the emergency brake.
Mechanically, t starts and runs excellent, nd and drives down the road well, ut it has sat for a long time. We would check the front end, rakes and change the fluids before driving it too far, s well as giving it a tune up. The battery is also brand new. The second (rear) gas tank was removed years ago and the front one dribbles a bit at the filler tube when we added gasoline and then stopped dripping. We would recommend having this looked at.
The Rare OEM Ford issue topper is interesting. If you go online, ou can read more about these. The compass and sticker, s well as the roof vent gives it away. In addition, t retains the Carlite glass. Note the rear door will need some repairs as shown but is still operable.
To summarize, t is our opinion that this survivor would be a very nice addition to anyone collection or to restore or recondition. It would make a great gift for the Ford enthusiast.
