Description of 1932 Ford Other na |
Here is my newly finished (one show-one trophy) deuce roadster. Built in a traditional fashion. this was planned out from beginning to end. prior to starting. This by the way is the third hot rod I have sold on Ebay and the previous two buyers were very happy. partly because I am very honest about the condition of anything I list. so here we go. A J. W. Garage chassis. completely boxed with tubular X member. transverse rear crossmember. 1940 style Posie spring. Pete and Jake style ladder bars and conventional shocks make up the rear. The rear is from a 1941 Ford. 378 gears. not the 411. new brakes and drums (made in U. S. A. ) from Job Lot in Queens N. Y. A complete Pete and Jakes chrome front end with Super Bell dropped axle and Wilwwod disc brakes. all stainless brake lines. Corvette master cylinder with residual valves front and rear. Steel grill shell. stainless insert. Griffin aluminum radiator. 1949-53 Ford flathead. 8BA. completely professionally rebuilt with 3/4 cam. Offy early heads (59AB) alternator. two new Stromberg carbs on an Offy manifold. complete MSD electronic ignition. Lake style headers with baffles. you can hear this coming. but not too loud. engine is backed up with a completely rebuilt 1988 Borg Warner T5. 5 speed with a hydraulic throwout bearing. this is the old generation transmission. new drive shaft with new universal joints. I did not install thermostats. instead I made two 1" opening washers for the cooling system. and I have two water temp gauges. both sides run at below 180 degrees. 12 gallon Tanks steel gas tank. The body is fiberglass and I can't recall the brand. but it came from Ohio. not Georgia. I bought it used a few years ago. but it is solid. wood and steel reinforced with steel in the floor. bearclaw latches. and heavy matt. Insulated firewall and floor with Dynamat. New windshield and glass. Interior is genuine leather as is the trunk. Tail lights are original from a 40's Nash. Column drop is from a 1937 Ford pickup truck with a non working key and a new switch which I was going to wire to ground the coil. After market wiring kit 10 circuit with a three position key. acc/off/on. with an old timey start button on the dash. The ignition key. light switch. hi/low beam switch. and horn button are all under the dash for a cleaner simple look. Original Yankee turn signal switch (must be reset manually) Original. Auto-lamp license plate bracket and light. All lights and gauges work as they should. Stewart Warner gauges are all electric and mounted flush in the dash. Accented by strips of South American Cocobolo which is a beautfiul exotic hardwood. Steel engine hood has been louvered. trunk is fiberglass but has a louvered steel panel bonded to it for that traditional look. 1937 Ford (original) trunk handle. Front and rear spreader bars. Tires are radial from Coker. tubes in the rear. front 155 x 15. rear tires are 750 x 16. Wheels are American racing Salt Flat models. Headlights are original KD with external blinkers. Battery is in the trunk with a master switch under the seat. Car is painted a semigloss single stage epoxy urethane enamel. There are 964 miles on this car as of today. a few minor bugs have been resolved but two remain that I will share. that I may be able to fix before the end of the auction. #1. there is an intermittent squeak from the front left disc brake. a pro told me to just break it in and it should go away. we'll see. #2. There is a slight pulsing. for the lack of a better term. when applying the brakes. I feel the brake pedal pushing back. and I believe the cure for that is to have the rear brake shoes radiused to match the drums. But this car stops fine and tracks straight and true. 1/8" toe in. Have a clear New York registration. I took this to one show and it got a lot of attention. and compliments. won best in class that day. Selling this only because we are moving. I have another hot rod. going to be a grandpa. and I don't have the room. I will be sorry to see this one go. The other two cars were shipped to Florida. arrangements made by the buyer. and I will help in any way. Deposit due in one week. money order only. $500. 00. balance by certified check. Please. no deadbeats. Car is for sale locally. so it may be removed from Ebay at some time. Thank you for looking. any questions. George is at 631-813-7145. PS. I can't sell this car to you if you voted for Obama. that's the way it is. . . I love my country. GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS AND VETERANS!!!.
