Description of 1967 Ford F-100 Styleside |
Here's a great truck with a great story. My neighbor parked this truck in his garage in 1989, ented out the house, nd moved to Florida. It sat for 26 years, ntil I pulled it out last summer. My father-in-law came over, nd recognized it, nd told me he remembers when the man bought the truck in 1967, nd saw him drive it to work every day, ince they worked together in the NJ Air National Guard. It was bought at Mount Holly Garage, miles away from my house. I have the original bill of sale and title, ncluded with the winning bid. I also have the original set of keys, he key tags, riginal order form, he original title, ll the registrations over the years, nbsp;the build sheet, he protect-o-plate, riginal glove box owner's manual, Ford shop manuals, nd original owner warranty cards. Also included are the original owner's maintenance records, rom day one, nbsp;in an aircraft maintenance log book, ince he was an aircraft mechanic, ike myself. The truck is Frost Turquoise, ith an inline 6 cylinder, 00 cubic inches, ith a 3-on-the-tree standard transmission. It is all original except for the Hurst style shift knob on the shift lever, nd the step style towing rear bumper, hich I installed. Since the truck sat for 26 years, have done the following: removed and restored the gas tank with POR-15 tank restoration kit (which also seals it internally), eplaced the following: new tires, ll new brakes and hardware and lines, ew master cylinder, nbsp;new radiator, ew water pump, ew hoses, ew carburator, ew fuel filter, ew fuel pump, ew fuel lines, ew gas cap, ew fuel sending unit, ew plugs, oints, nbsp;condensor, ires, ap, nd coil, ew battery and wires, ew wiper blades, nbsp;new rear step bumper, ew seat cover. The truck starts up immediately, nd drives well. Mechanically, he only problem is the steering column bearings are worn, nd should be replaced. It's perfectly safe, nd driveable, ut it takes more effort to turn the wheel than it should, n slow, arking lot manuevers. Every thing else works, xcept the radio, nd the horn, hich I've never addressed. I think the horn just needs to be wired up. The gauges all work, ut the dash backlight is not working. Heater and defroster work great. Transmission is smooth, nd shifts well. Overall, he truck looks great, nd gets thumbs up every time I take it out. There is rust on the lower quarter panels, s seen in the pictures, nd that is the worst of rust. The bed is solid, ith no holes, ut does have surface rust here and there. There is one dent on the right rear quarter panel as seen in photos. More of a slight crease, nd to me, oesn't detract from the overall "patina" (everyone loves that word these days). The driver's side seat is worn, ow covered with an indian style blanket cover. Original floor mats are intact, o tears that I recall. Only selling to get another Toyota 4x4 truck, o would be interested in a trade for that or Toyota 4Runner. |
