The Free Wheelin' Package is a very desirable option to have but to find a F250 truck with a bigblock 460 is rare as most Free Wheelin' trucks are F150s. This truck was purchased new by my buddys grandpa for use on the farm and vacations. The truck sat for many years after Grandpa died and is not running right now but ran 2 years ago when my buddy hooked up a drip bag fuel delivery system (the fuel system needs to be cleaned out before you can put it to regular use). My buddy said the engine ran smoothly when he started it but I can't vouch for the transmission condition as he never drove it (it's tough to drive with the hood opened up and holding the drip bag). I pulled the tranny dipstick and the fluid looks red (see pic) and smells normal. There was never any frame mount tow packages or heavy towing options on this truck so drop the pan and change the filter and I'm sure you're good to go. This is a stock original 2 wheel drive farm truck with farm dents and dings here and there but no wrecks or accidents. The radiator core support and inner fenders are straight and clean and the fenders and gaps line up nicely. I can't find any bondo anywhere which makes sense as dents and dings on a farm truck never get repaired. The interior is original with some splits on the drivers side seat area and the Free Wheeling Package dash trim is present and accounted for. I can't say the same for the roll bar but it looks like the roll bar was never installed as there are no bolt holes in the bed. All the wiring looks stock and hasn't been hacked on or spliced into except where my buddys grandpa added a camper shell power wire. The wheels could be aftermarket but they might be original and part of the Custom Package order option (see Marti Report) as the tires are the correct 16.5" size like the build sheet says the truck was delivered with. Miles are 106,000 and I know it's a 5 digit odometer so your scrutiny is welcomed but in the end you'll agree with the mileage. This truck only has surface rust where the sun has faded the paint but no rot or structural rust anywhere-this was an Eastern Washington truck all it's life. Driveshaft is presently removed because we towed it to Seattle to sell it and the proper towing procedures require driveshaft removal on a RWD vehicle. Clean and clear title in hand, n-person inspections or 3rd party inspections are welcomed anytime before the auction ends for serious bidders. Phone calls are best, 06 725-2355. This truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. |
