Description of 1973 Ford Bronco

1973 Ford Bronco Sport I searched the country for a solid Bronco when I found this one in Washington State and had it shipped to Virginia in 2010. Since then I’ve moved out to California and turned this Bronco into my Daily Driver. I would drive this Bronco anywhere! This truck starts up every time. tracks perfectly straight and brakes hard with no pull to the left or right. The transfer case shifts smoothly with no issues. It is exceptionally clean on top and bottom and shows very well. When I bought the truck it had a Top Loader 4 Speed Transmission and 351W. Since I’ve owned it. I have had the engine rebuilt and recently swapped the transmission to the NV3550. Since living in California. the speed of traffic required an over-drive transmission and I couldn’t be happier with the new 5-speed. It cruises at 70-75mph with ease on the Highway. Along with the Transmission (all work done by West Coast Bronco) I had the front Drum Brakes swapped out for Ford Disc Brakes – coupled with a Brake Booster it now provides a significant difference in stopping power and consistency. Another must have for driving Broncos every day in all weather conditions. I recently (6months) converted the rig to Fuel Injection utilizing the FAST EZ EFI conversion kit. This was a major modification that I wish I would have done 5 years ago. Instead of constantly messing with the carb. it now starts first time every time. To complete the conversion. we swapped the rear gas tank for the BC Broncos 23 Gal EFI Tank with internal mounted high pressure (255 L) Edelbrock Fuel Pump. New stainless steel braided Teflon fuel lines into AN Fittings and Fuel Pressure Regulator mounted conveniently under the Hood. The FAST system has been amazing. it’s self-learning which means it will actually adapt to your driving style. Additionally. it comes equipped with a handheld programming device that gives you the ability to change idle rpms and Air/Fuel Ratios as desired. Along with that install. we did a complete re-wire of the Bronco installing a CENTECH Wiring Harness from Tom’s Bronco. Since then. no more issues with bad wiring. faulty grounds or a bird nest under the dash from the previous owners. Moving to Safety (We have two small kids!). I recently added the 8-Point Family Roll Cage (Bronco Bob) and swapped out the front lap belts to Corbeau 3-Point Retractable Seat Belts. The seat belts are a huge peace of mind and the roll cage gives me the confidence to ride the wife and kids around without worrying about possible accidents. Lastly. to ensure longevity of the rig. I removed the tattered carpet and had Linex spray the entire bed up to the rails. This machine will now last the next decade with no worries of interior rust or concern from throwing wet or sandy gear into the bed of the Bronco. · New Battery · New One Wire 3G Alternator · New Speedometer Cluster and Speedometer Cable · New CENTECH Wiring Harness · FAST EZI EFI Conversion –Throttle Body Fuel InjectionN New MSD Ignition Box and Booster Coil · New 23 Gallon EFI Rear Fuel Tank · New High Pressure Fuel Pump (225L) mounted inside gas Tank! · New Steel Braided Teflon Lines and AN Fittings · Recent Ford Disc Brake Conversion (Installed by West Coast Broncos ~10 months) · Recent NV3550 (Installed by West Coast Broncos – currently has 4800 miles on it) · Heavy Duty Rampage Black Denim Soft Top and Wiper Motor Drop Bracket (~10 months) · Family Bikini Top and normal Bikini Top as well (Tom’s Bronco) · Tom’s Bronco Roll and Tumble Rear Seat (New Seat Belts) · Original Bronco Rear Seat (Good Condition) · Painted and welded 8-Point Family Roll Bar (Bronco bob) · 3-Point Corbeau Seat Belts attached to Bungs in Roll Cage · H4 Headlight Upgrade – Much Brighter than original Headlights · New Hydraulic Hood Lift · New Horn · New Wiper Blades · New Chrome Gas Cap Cover for Main Tank (Auxiliary Tank was removed during EFI upgrade) · Tires 35x12. 5x15 – Great Shape (approx. 70% Tread Left) Further Breakdown BODY -- the body is straight with no dents and is very solid. Not a show truck. so there are a couple small scrapes in the paint from everyday use but nothing significant. Also. the driver side floor pan was recently replaced and I wish I would have done the passenger but never got around to it. With the new spray in liner. it won’t be something you have to worry about for the next 10+ years. ENGINE – Engine has approximately 5000 miles since the rebuild. The engine runs fantastic. Fires up every time and runs strong. No Smoke and No Leaks! Has recent oil pan and oil pressure pump installed. New rubber seals for valve covers and recent oil change with full synthetic oil. TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE – Dana 44 Front Axle. 9in Rear End and NP205 Transfer Case. Both transmission and transfer case shift perfectly – No Leaks. Rig has factory 4. 10 gears and a T-Shift Transfer case. NV3550 is a 5-Speed with a low first gear (4. 01) and . 78 over-drive in 5th making it an outstanding swap in the early broncos. Transmission was purchased new from Advance Adapters – Currently has approximately 5000 miles. SUSPENSION and STEERING – Power Steering with a recently rebuild Power Steering Box. Truck is very comfortable to drive. it drives down at 75mph road straight and the Rancho 5000 shocks absorb the bumps pretty well. If I was keeping the rig I would upgrade to Bilstein shocks…. but may just be personal preference. No known issues at this time. INTERIOR – New speedometer and gauge cluster. The original style front seats are in great shape and actually really comfortable. I recently installed the Tom’s Bronco Fold and Tumble Rear Seat. only to give more access to the bed when the kiddos are riding in her. I still have the original rear seat to go along if needed. The new spray in bed liner looks fantastic and all knobs and gauges work. I did remove the original heater and replaced with a MOJAVE aftermarket heater…. huge difference. Don’t use it much in California but it was fantastic while in Virginia. All in all. this is a extremely solid truck that performs exceptionally well mechanically. I have driven the truck all over the past year in California. to include a 700 mile trip in one day with zero issues. I hate to get rid of her. but with the family continuing to grow. we need something that can support. This is the second EB I’ve owned and look forward to getting another one in the future. Note: I would rather someone not buy the truck then buy it and have it not meet their expectations. Please call. write. or stop by with any questions and I’ll do my best to respond in a timely manner. Vehicle is sold as is - no Warranty. It is a 40+ year old vehicle!
