Description of 1971 Ford Mustang mach 1 |
This Mach 1 was just pulled from storage in Virginia. The car hasn't been registered since 1982. The mileage is an actual 67,000. The previous owner had the car since 1973 and parked it after 9 years of driving. Fortunately he kept up with some maintenance on the car over the years. The gas tank is new, he exhaust has been replaced, ew alternator, ew battery, nd a new starter. The body is in good shape. Not perfect, ut solid. There is surface rust on several of the lower sections of the 1/4s and fenders. There is some rust on the tail panel as well. (refer to the pictures) The paint is peeling on one section on the roof. The silver paint is buffed through on areas of the hood giving the, hat is believed to be ORIGINAL PAINT, nice patina. The previous owner bought the car when it was only a couple years old and says it has never had any paint work. The right rear 1/4 panel has a crease that looks like a slow speed parking lot ding that the previous owner remembers well. The 351 four barrel engine starts right up. The carburetor has been cleaned from an enormous amount of gummy gas that accumulated over the years. There are no major mechanical concerns, he brakes work evenly and well, he engine pulls strong, nd idles nicely once it is warmed up. The interior has a tear on the base of the drivers seat. There is nothing to hide on this car. If you want a concourse perfect show car, hen the entire automobile would need attention. If you are in the market for a low mileage driver, hen this car would need very little to be ready for your daily commute. As with any classic car I would recommend an in person inspection so that you see personally what it is that you are purchasing. I also have worked previously with a nationwide automotive appraisal company that is located just 30 minutes from this Mach 1. We could work with them to have an inspection for you if you are unable to see the car before the auction ends. Feel free to email me with questions. I work long days but will respond every night, nd be available through the weekend. The car is at my parents house who are partially retired, nd therefore can show the car any day during this auction. |
