This is a survivor, riginally from California, t was then moved to Arizona at some point around 1976. It was imported into Canada in 1984 and was used rarely by its long-time owner, ho is a collector of many other vintage automobiles. He and I are good friends, nd I am helping him sell this Thunderbird, ecause he has few internet or sales skills. I am not a professional, ut have done this sort of thing before.
It was stored from about 1985 in dry storage, aving only been recently resurrected. The engine sat unused for a bit too long and required a re-build, hich was completed by a professional re-builder in 2014. The car has only been driven about 20 miles since the rebuild.
This is a very original car. The mileage is low and is historically documented via a temporary identification from Arizona dating from 1976 (34,364) and an importation inspection into Canada from 1984 (38,045). It has a valid and clear Ontario, anada registration in the current owner's name. He has owned the car since 1984.
It runs and drives well. This car has an old paint job (possibly the original paint) but it is still in very good condition, ith just enough 'patina' for its age. The original white fiberglass hardtop with 'opera windows' is in good condition, ut will require a headliner replacement. The original wheel covers are accented by white wall tires and the original fender skirts. The motor and trunk compartments are very original, ut the motor is missing the oil breather cap and the air cleaner assembly. The motor is strong and runs very well.The car has no power steering or brakes. The original "Ford-O-Matic" 2-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and works very well. The soft top is a newer vinyl top with a zippered rear window. The zipper needs to be repaired. The added driver's side deflector window is missing.
