Description of 1967 Ford Mustang |
Hello. I have decided to sell my 1967 Mustang Fastback. V-8 . C-4 automatic. I bought this 2 years ago and have have certainly improved on my purchase. This is not a numbers matching fastback but was originally a six cylinder fastback. I bought with a 289 and after attempting to increase the H. P. I opted for the 345 H. P. Ford Racing crate motor and am very happy I did. Zoom! The tranny was rebuilt. the rear end has a new 8 inch pumpkin with Richmond 4. 10 Posi. The front suspension has been replaced with a new Chris Alston Chassisworks tubular aluminum suspension featuring aluminum adjustable coil over shocks and Willwood front slotted and holed disc brakes. I have done a few things but the car is certainly not done. It could use a body go over and a paint job. The only problem underneath is the last third of the REAR frame rails need replacing About 8 to 12 inches total. There is a rear cross brace that connects to the frame rails and supports the bumper that will also need replacing. NO this is not indicative of the entire underside or car. It is actually pretty darn good. I took it to a well known (undertatement) local Mustang restorer and he was amazed by how good the majority of the floors and underside are . The doors are good. the body is good but needs a good body man to align all of it and smooth it out. then paint it. It is a blast to drive and a head yanker for sure. It sounds awesome through the new stainless exhaust and flowmasters. This car does not have power steering or power brakes. It drives very well but it is not easy to steer in confined spaces for someone who isn't used to that. I drove a jeep growing up without power steering and I can turn the car but not for everyone! It stops well. Both options are addable to the vehicle. Chris Alston makes a steering kit to complete the power set up. As far as the interior. I did not have to do a lot to make it nice. It is acceptable but if you are a stickler. you will get a new dash pad and improve the guage lighting at least. It is nearly 50 and kind of dim but still original. The seats have zero cracks or tears. The back of the seats are a fine but do not stay tucked on the edges. corners. The door panels have some wear spots but no tears. I have new seat backs in the box. included. I have some rubber door moldings new also. Overall. nbsp; this car is pretty cool. I wanted one since I was 19 and I have done it. It is beyond fun to drive and zip around town with. Because of the gears this is really NOT A HIGHWAY CAR! Short runs are fine but not great to go on a trip if you know what I mean. This car turns heads and keeps them turned. You can say hello with an effortless chirp or goodbye with a screaming burnout if you want to although it is rare for me to do. I have set a price based on what the car is and with the upgrades and I think it is worth somewhere near the asking price. All offers are certain to be considered!! I have removed the low offer filter so I can see any offer you wish to make. I have a minimum I would like to see but there are opinions on both sides of the fence. A good project car could run 15k. nbsp; a restored and done car can bring 60K+. Being in the middle is tough. Maybe the car is not right for a restore and resell for profit at my price. I don't know. I am sure it is a good car for someone to work on and do stuff here and there. If you can do work yourself this car is ideal. Paying a body shop or mechanic $100 an hour is not worth it for me. I realize body work and paint is expensive. So were the motor. drivetrain and suspension. Values of these cars is all over the place. This is a 1967 Mustang Fastback!! It is not roached but I realize it is not a full restore either by any means. You can patch the frame rails or replace them fully. nbsp; I have the parts! 2 local well known shops have both said patches are fine which lowers the fix cost dramatically. I would patch them. caress the body to perfection and pick a paint color. This is a great car to have a blast running around in. You can drive it NOW and fix it up as you wish. as you go along. My listing does allow offers and I will look at any. I have spent far more than what I will sell it for. as everyone with a classic car seems to do. Blah blah blah right! I know how it goes. I prefer a local sale so a buyer can come and drive the car and inspect it. You can send a third party inspector also. Welcomed! We can arrange a meet when a lift is available and will put it up. http://youtu. be/RjBoKVhL7RoI have lowered the buy it now price and removed the low offer filter PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS!!! I can not say that enough. I can take more pictures of the body details or whatever. Underside pics are more difficult cause I do not have a lift. Better in person. |
