1932 Ford Model B Fordor SedanChassis no. BB 5175282Instead of opting for the more obvious flat head V8 engine this car is built with a highly tuned Model B power plant. In the period the hottest set up on the dirt tracks was the modified four-cylinder Ford engines. This particular engine has been converted to overhead valves with a Miller High Speed head. The carburetion is progressive two barrel and the exhaust is fed through a tubular header. Compression has been lifted and the internals of the engine all updated to support the higher level of power. Despite the modifications the goal of this motor has been drivability. Great power and response are delivered but also a friendly drivable power band and a nice smooth idle. The engine is mated to a three-speed transmission then an over-drive unit. With the overdrive high-speed cruising is a pleasant quiet experience particularly in the comfortable sedan coachwork. Unlike many Fords and hot rods of this era this car can comfortably seat five and would make a very pleasant tourer as well as hit at the cruise nights. The body has been expertly painted Washington Blue with Black fenders and moldings. it has straw-colored striping and wheels. The spare has a tan canvas cover. It has 16-inch wheels and tires. and the brakes have been upgraded to hydraulics. The front end is subtly lowered. One look at the quality of the work and modifications of this Ford and you realize this was a true labor of love. The interior is correctly upholstered in brown mohair. with matching door panels and carpets. The dashboard carries original woodgrain in excellent condition. The instrument cluster has nicely detailed original gauges in the iconic damascened background. augmented with a modern 140mph speedometer. The restoration of the car is done to a very high standard creating a package that is a joy to drive – tremendous power with wonderful brakes and handling.
