Description of 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible |
Pictured is my 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible. This car has been completely restored throughout. This Mustang is a 289 "C" code car that has been fully rebuilt and updated with a factory 4 barrel intake manifold topped by a Holley 4 barrel carb that is is backed by a rebuilt Borg-Warner T-10 four speed transmission with a Hurst Shifter. and a steering column mounted Ford Rally Pac tachometer clock (works and keeps time). The front brake drums were removed and upgraded to power front disc brakes. The entire wiring system was replaced with American Autowire's 22 circuit 510125 1965-1966 Mustang wiring which included all new switches. Although the car has an original type belt driven cooling fan. wiring is there to install an electric fan should it be desired. The alternator is a "one-wire" built in regulator style that is required by the new wiring harness. I had the interior completed with the beautiful Red/White "Pony" style interior. which is as pretty an interior as they come. The convertible top frame was taken off. soda blasted. and then painted black. The top is a power top. with a new top installed. along with new lift cylinders and hoses. The rear end has been rebuilt. with new axle bearings being installed at the same time. New Ford "trumpet" style dual exhausts were added as you can see and I even had a "H" pipe included with the exhausts. The 15x8 mag wheels and Falken 205/60R15 tires are also new. The entire front suspension. ball joints. tie rods. etc. . including the front springs have been replaced. nbsp;with the rear leaf springs being replaced as well as the shocks. front and rear. Radiator. hoses. heater box and heater core have all been replaced. When I purchased this car. it was just a shell. and I have included some pictures of where I started with this car. which was totally soda blasted to take off all of the old paint and then sealed with a high quality epoxy primer/sealer as you can see. All of the parts that could be taken off of this car to paint were painted off of the car individually. The original point style distributor has been replaced with a drop in electronic distributor. and I took pains to match the spark plug wires and distributor cap with the exterior red of the vehicle. This car has the original exhaust manifolds. not headers. and I tracked down a Cobra dress up kit for the engine. This is as pretty a 1965 Mustang as you will ever find. and I built this car for myself as a daily driver the way I would have ordered it so if you are looking for originality this car is probably not for you. Car is sold as is with no warranty expressed or implied. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I will assist in any way possible. I am sure I am leaving something out but should you have any questions simply ask. On Jan-02-15 at 21:01:47 PST. seller added the following information:Question was asked about the weather stripping on the car: ALL of the weather stripping on this Mustang has been replaced. bumper to bumper and everything in between. Question: Will you sell to an overseas purchaser? Yes I will sell worldwide with shipping at buyers expense but I will assist in every way possible. For some reason this auction would not let me list other United States. I will contact EBay on Monday to find out why. |
