Description of 1982 Ford Fairmont FUTURA |
Up for auction is a 1982 Ford Fairmont Futura 4 door coupe. This car was garage kept for many years and was not driven much by the elderly man I purchased it from. You can tell that it wasn't in the sun very much because the dash pad is perfect. the dash plastics are perfect and the woodgrain on the dash is perfect. Any one who knows this era of automobiles will be able to tell. I do not believe the car was ever smoked in. The car drives runs and handles great. I have driven it to and from work several times and around town. (Would I drive it across country? Probably not unless I went through it and restored it throughout). The DASH A/C WORKS GREAT. As far as I can tell the car has never been in an accident all lower panels are all in great shape and no buckles. It has the original wheels tires and hubcaps. It also comes with a set of aluminum 5 stars off of a mustang. The original tires are warn and need replaced. but the ones on the 5 stars are a week old and looks great on the car. They are yokahama YK580. 225/60R16. I have had 3 different Fairmonts through the years and by far this one is in the best shape of all. It has 71K original miles on it. There is a small rust hole by trunk lid gasket but other than that it is pretty much rust free. These cars have the same chassis (unibody) as the 1979-1993 fox body mustangs. All of the front end and rear end chassis components can be replaced with anything you can bolt under a mustang fox body. I purchased the car wanting to build a sleeper drag race street car out of it but didn't want to destroy such a car that was has outlasted time as well as this one has. These cars are starting to become more popular and hard to find for restoring or rebuilding because of it being a fox body. The headliner is a little loose in the front over the driver seat. The hood at one time had obviously blew open but was somewhat repaired by someone else. The top half of the car was repainted from the red stripes up. This car has the normal nicks dings and scratches that comes with everyday wear and tear on a 1982 however I will state again that it is in awesome shape. If your interested and don't see a picture of what your wanting to see just message me and I can email you those pictures. The engine size and info is on the ID sticker in the photos. The VIN is in the photos also. The buyer will be responsible for pickup or transporting arrangements after deposit payment. Cash or Cashier check for balance upon pickup. |
