Description of 1977 Ford F-150 Custom

124,000 on body, 2k on new 460 big block engine.

The truck in mechanically awesome and could be used as a daily driver. The 77 one of the most desirable years because it is the first year with what is considered a modern, well mannered, suspension (and PS/PB) but it was the last year for the old school slit grill we all love.

The engine purrs nicely and sounds amazing and is just broken in. I use it for chores, occasional dump or fire wood runs and to cruise to car cruise-ins where it gets lots of attention. The truck is a joy to drive, tracks nice and straight and smooth on curvy roads (with tight steering). This is a great looking truck but not a show truck, most of the paint is original 40 year old paint that has been buffed out and touched over the years, it is not perfect paint. This is a southern, garage kept truck with very little rust history. The floor boards and the cab corners have been replaced and there is at least one or two tiny surface blisters. There is a bed liner in it but under that there is a spot or 2 that could use a repair panel (or not) but it’s otherwise very sound. The tailgate is pushed in a little too, just enough to give it character but not enough to look bad or effect its operation. This truck ALWAYS turns heads and it wouldn’t take much for someone to take it to the next level and make it pristine… like I said I used the truck as a truck today but it is a super clean survivor with the under pinning all rebuilt. 2 year ago I went through all of the mechanical systems making is right as well as touching up the paint a bit to preserve it. This truck has an incredible foundation to be use as is safely and reliably OR to be taken to the next level. Trucks like this that have another $1000-2000 in paint and body are going for 25+ grand (I am a mechanic not really a fit and finish guy, the paint, esp the white on the cab could use some love). I don’t really know what the true mileage is, the odometer says 124k and for all I know it is correct, not sure. I haven’t put 10 k on it in the past 13 years I have had it. I intended to pass this down to my first grandson but I need to make some tuition payments for my kids so it must go…. sadly
