STK 2015 1964 Ford Galaxie XL500 Convertible If you wanted a luxury convertible in 1964, this Galaxie 500XL was the Blue Oval of choice. This car sold new in Shelby, NC and appears to be a Carolina resident that has been well cared for over five decades. These cars were well built and very nicely appointed. The Galaxie body style was a more than modest upgrade to the earlier models, continuing to utilize the long hood and trunk line configuration that was prominent in the day. The Palomino Beige repaint on this convertible is in good condition and there is plenty of chrome front and rear. A pair of classic factory fender skirts complete the side profile. The original beige vinyl bucket seat interior is in very good condition with bucket seats and a console shifter. Our Galaxie is well optioned with power steering, power drum brakes, AM/FM stereo, day/night mirror and tinted windows. The nice convertible top has a glass window and a power top mechanism that works very well. Horsepower and torque are provided by a big-block 390CI engine with a 650 Holley 4V that runs very well and is mated to Ford's strong 3-speed automatic transmission. Radial whitewall tires are mounted on steel wheels with factory XL wheel covers. The current owner has recently replaced the battery. There are very few summer cruisers like this Galaxie 500XL to be had and it belongs in your garage. Call 800-650-1055 or visit www.autobarnclassiccars.com for additional information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
