Description of 1960 Ford F-100 |
1960 FORD F-100 Flareside Short Box. Regretfully, life circumstance dictates that my “Fridge” has to go! The truck is very original. It is powered by a good running 223 six cylinder coupled to a three speed column shift transmission. The truck was painted more than twenty years ago. The odometer reads 42k. It has had very few modifications from stock. Ihave no way of knowing of any engine or transmission repairs other than the obvious. The engine runs strong and fairly quiet. It is apparent that the truck was well cared for. Recent items changed, added and work performed include rebuilt carb, reupholstered seat, new taillights, headlights, front turnsignals, oil change (engine, transmission and rear end), new tires, stainless caps and trim rings, door handles, exhaust gasket, push rod cover gasket, valve cover gasket, fuel filter, clutch and slave cylinders along with new line. The front wheel bearings were repacked.Rear end is a 9 inch with new NAPA drums, shoes and cylinders. Wipers work (vacuum). Heater fan works. No headliner, dome light works. Dash instruments work but fuel gaugestopped working recently. The truck isrelativelyrust free. The body is VERY straight. The frame has some surface rust but is in overall good condition. The paint is 20 years old and shows some chalking and age spots in places and some work was done on the cab corner. Windows go up and down, doors open and close crisply. The truck is very close to original and would be a great candidate for further restoration or continued as a Sunday driver project. This is a wonderful rare truck with an increasing popularity. A survivor with 50 plus years of service and overall a good solid truck. Drive it as a rolling project or fully restore this classic F100. To go with the truck (not installed) is a new wood bed kit. This Vehicle is being sold in “as is” condition with NO WARRANTY IMPLIED. I have described this 1960 F100 which I am Title holder, to be as accurate as possible. There may be unforeseen issues not yet discovered as with any vintage vehicle without complete disassembly.
