Description of 1930 Ford Model A |
There is a wow factor in this 1930 Ford Model A that we will try to adequately describe in only one page. It has plenty of hints of an original pre-war Ford all the way down to its steel body, but the sinisterly slippery paint tells you this is a performance-built V8 hot rod that's just waiting to eat the streets. There's no question that this coupe has an instant presence. Fresh off its full build, the Brandywine has that immediate attraction of almost a shiny metallic black indoors. But in the sunlight the layers of clearcoat makes its dark black cherry appearance really pop. The tudor body is genuine Henry Ford steel that has been expertly restored. When you give the slippery paint this super-straight canvas, the result is a mirror-like shine on every panel without needing any chrome. That's why this one can look like it's a jewel and still shave the door handles and minimize the bumpers. But don't think for a minute this hot rod skips out on the brightwork. It has great pieces like the big waterfall grille, headlight pods, Ford step plates, and the bold tank on the rear. Plus, there's the iconic V8 badge in the front, sides, and on each hubcap that are also more shiny reminders of how special this coupe really is.The attention to detail will really make you fall in love with this custom build. The interior is a great example. It looks modern and premium, but it never loses the Model A's original spirit. The bucket seats have the plain, low back appearance of a standard Ford, but the brown leather is supple to touch and they have plenty of adjustment for all day comfort. When you sit down in them, you see a festival of wood and chrome. It starts on the steering wheel that has the cool classic banjo style in the spokes and a walnut appearance on the rim. This pattern is repeated on the dash with matching lumber and a chrome surround for the full Equus gauge package, including a large tach. You'll also start to notice the premium features such as the ice-cold air conditioning, Lokar shifter, power windows, and the AM/FM/CD stereo that's mounted in the custom headliner. We recommend that you put on sunglasses before you open the hood. Because when you view all the details of the engine bay, we dare you to find something else that can be polished. We all love to drive our cars, but you just know this is an award-worthy engine, too. When you do turn the key, you'll be rewarded with a thunderous symphony out of the dual exhaust. That's because underneath all the motor's shine is the substance of a performance-built 302 V8. This one has go-fast goodies such as a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock performance intake, MSD ignition, and headers. It stays reliably cool thanks to the new radiator with electric fan. But more than just a big motor, take some time to look over the full chassis in the undercarriage photos. There you'll see the benefits on investing in a car with less than 1,400 miles on it. The TCI chassis includes components like the four-link suspension in both the front and rear. Plus, there are front disc brakes, a three-speed automatic transmission, and the grip of modern Kumho tires on those vintage-style wheels. You could spend years building the perfect Model A, but if you're quick enough, you can just drive it home now instead.
