Description of 1977 Ford Ranchero Lincoln Mark V |
Up for bids is a 1977 Lincoln Mark V Coloma. Basically a Lincoln Ranchero. This is not a back yard hack job.this was done by a professional coach builder.Ford Motor Company commissioned a professional coach builder in California to build theseto test the market for a lincoln Ranchero type vehicle. They were then sold through the lincoln dealers at a cost of $30,000 that was a lot of money in 1977. They only built 12 of these. I don'tknow if any others survived. The company that built them was called Caribou Motor CompanyThey are now out of business. This is a very rare car i would like to see some one restore it.Now for the condition of the car. I have only test driven it about 100 miles. I will give my best and honest answer of the condition. It looks to be original and complete. The body is mostly solid. The only rust i can see is the bottom of the drivers door. The very bottom is rusted out due to poor water drainage. it will need repair or replacement. This was a common problem on ford doors of the 1970s.The interior is fair but shows wear. The dash has one large crack. The power seats do not work. I do not know if its in the switch or the seat motor. Every thing else seems to work as it should even the AC. all the glass is good. It has a 460 motor and C6 transmission. the motor runs good but it smokes a little. The transmission works good. It has power brakes and steering that works good. the steering is vague as most 1970s cars were but i think the front end and steering might need rebuilding and maybe the steering box. The paint is dark jade but i think the original color was a lighter green called light jade diamond fire. The paint is fair but not show quality. The tires are new.Overall this car is in good to fair condition it just needs a lot of tlc. This is a very rare car and i would like to see someone restore it.I will try and answer any questions as best i can.I have a clear title in my name. Car will not be released until all funds clear my bank no exceptions. Please do not bid if you do not intend to buy.I will require a $500.00 non refundable deposit through paypal within 24 hours of auctions end the rest to be paid within 7 days no exceptions. The vehicle is sold as is where is with no warranty. |
