How do you describe a car you have had for 50 years. My father cosigned for my loan. 500 dollars down and a 2200 dollar mortgage. I enjoyed my car for one year, going to school one night I came out late at night and it wouldn't start. Puzzled I opened the hood and found a missing battery. Quickly I secured one and got the car home. The next night I took my 58 ford to school and for the next 3 years. I had fun with the car driving it sparingly. Even ( souped up the 289) boy is that an old term. This was during the next 4 years. One thing is that winter was out for this car. Never came out. In 1972 I kinda stopped driving the ca, with interest in other cars I was acquiring. Kept driving the old 58 through this time. Parked the 58 and drove a nice 69 XL. Found a super nice 62 Galaxie that kept me busy for 5 more years. Stupidly I stored the Fairlane in a garage that started leaking. Not realizing this when I went to get it out the paint was ruined. So in 1978 with help from a very close friend we stripped the now bad paint off. Removed all trim and repainted the body. Did not paint the door edges under hood or trunk. So after this the car had only 21000 miles on it. So moving ahead I have enjoyed it for the next 30 some years, maintaining and occasional rides. Comes with many manuals, dealer upholstery book /rare/ pictures from new magazine articles and features. Never restored bought new at Conn Ford March 1967. No power Steering or Brakes or Power Top. Brakes redone One month ago. Shell ZDDP oil change this year. Have many documents Warranty card issued then, Etc. Any questions don't hesitate to E-mail me.
