Description of 1957 Ford Fairlane |
1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria For Sale 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Club Victoria For Sale This 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 is a wonderful car. A very solid California car that received a very nice quality restoration back in the late 1990's and then went into indoor storage shortly thereafter. Always protected from the elements and in a dry climate the car survived it's hibernation period very well. it still looks gorgeous! When pulled out of storage the car was serviced and gone through. Many new parts were installed. brand new tires. radiator. battery. brake parts. hoses. belts. etc. The car was fully detailed inside and out and it is ready for a new home. Mechanically the car seems good to go. and cosmetically it is a real beauty. Body and paintwork is of nice quality. Chrome was all redone during the restoration. Stainless trim is in good shape. rubber seals and weatherstripping is nice. (dog not included) Brand new vintage wide whites from Coker tire. These have less than 50 miles on them! The car has a very long Southern California history. In fact I believe it has been here it's whole life. The black California plates have been with the car since 1963 and the data plate shows a Los Angeles delivery. Very nice front end. grille and bumer chrome is clean. Really a pretty car. Body is nice and straight down the sides. paint finish is smooth. Body gaps all look good an even. Beautiful! The fender skirts really make it look a mile long in the back end! The car is currently located in the dry Southern California desert. is stored indoors. non smoker. and the dog does not sleep in the car. It is well kept and shows well! The car has been driven very little since the restoration was completed. It had just a few thousand miles on it before being stored. and since it's revival it has no more than 50 miles. It really is ready for some road. it is begging to be enjoyed and shown and shared with others. The glass is all excellent in the car except for the drivers side roll up window which is currently cracked. Everything else is very nice. Smooth! Solid car underneath There is a bit of an exhaust leak present. you can hear it. it is not offensive. but the tailpipe at the back does show a bit of rust. so if you wanted it to be as quiet as it can be. this should be attended to. but as it is it is still fully functional. The color is correct and original to the car. The interior is very clean and was completely redone during the restoration. Door panels are excellent. Nice level of detail with the proper decals and such in place. Door jams are very clean and are smoothly painted. Seats are excellent Carpet is in excellent shape. Door sills were re-chromed and look very nice. Pedals are clean and show minimal wear. Dashboard paint and controls are all unrestored but are in wonderful condition. Accessory rear speaker volume control knob can be seen here as well as the Ford accessory tissue box in the center of the dash. Horn ring is clean. steering wheel is in good shape. Odometer reads 75. 80 miles and this is thought to be original. There are no service documents to back up this claim. but the condition of the dashboard and controls do seem consistent with a car with that sort of mileage. Dash top is in excellent condition. Original radio is still in place. The Ford tissue box is so cool! You can see in the background of this image there is a modern audio system in the car. it is not currently functional. but it is there. An alarm system was installed as well at one point but it is currently disabled. Looks like the pup is ready for his ride! Original owners manual. Shop manual Even a copy of Motor Trend magazine announcing the "new" 1957 Ford. Headliner is in nice shape Very clean car. Here is the data plate for those that have their decoder rings. The trunk is very clean as well. Great vintage Goodyear spare tire. The original jack is present. Also coming with the car are some maintenance parts and a pair of jumper cables. Underside of the trunk lid The engine compartment is very clean All stock and proper. just lovely. New battery and cables. new radiator. new hoses and belts. Proper decals are in place. New Gates belts. Looks great. runs well. Underside of the hood is cleanly painted as well. this was not a "quickie" restoration. In closing this is really a nice clean. solid. well restored example. Good history. not a car that was abused or rebuilt from a wreck. Always in a dry climate so it has survived very well underneath structurally. It is not a perfect show car by any means but it is definitely clean enough to be proud of and will certainly draw endless praise and comments out on the motorway. If a "10" is a full body off. show level restoration. I would put this car at about an 8 to 8 1/2 at least. It really is a nice car. The car is available for inspection by appointment. We have a clean and clear title in hand and are willing to assist with shipping to anywhere in the world (at the buyers expense of course). The reserve price is set at a VERY reasonable level and should easily be reached during the auction. The car will NOT be sold outside of the auction. so please dont ask for a "buy it now". In the event that the reserve is un-met. I will entertain offers. but I am confident that it will be reached and perhaps go far beyond. Please do contact me with any and all questions BEFORE bidding. The car is sold as-is with no warranty Thank you for your interest!! *** |
