Description of 1988 Ford Mustang GT with T-Tops

1988 Foxbody Mustang

GT 5.0

Automatic -T-Tops

Meet Rachel…..WHY am I selling her?

Downsizing from a 5 bedroom to a 2 bedroom.

Nice Reliable Driver That Looks Great.

I am the 2nd owner and personally know the 1st owner. Rachel is an extremely nice 1988 GT 5.0 WITH Factory T-Tops ! This car has been restored to reflect a primarily period correct restoration. EFI engine has a SVE factory package. All VIN numbers match. Various documents from the local FORD Dealer compliment the sale of this car. Rachel has always been a true Florida car and she has been garaged since July 2011. Interior is original fabric seats with very little signs of the wear you would expect. SVE package, headers, new transmission from Power by the Hour, X pipe,mufflers…..GONE!

All Funds Must Clear My Bank

Before

Title or Car Is Released

A Foxbody GT 5.0 like this is hard to find and the values are on the way up……….s factory T-Tops. While FORD didn’t document the factory produced 1988 T-Top; my best information indicates around 600 were factory produced. All funds must clear my bank before title or car is released. I have the title in hand. I appreciate your interest in my car. I really want to see Rachel go to a good home. Thanks for looking.

Like most any MUSTANG, this Foxbody will only appreciate in value.

The exterior of my Mustang is absolutely beautiful. It is painted a stunning solid Burgandy. The body and trim are primarily free from any dents, dings, scratches, or wear; there is 1 scratch on the drivers side bumper, the original glass is perfect and the rear side windows are remanufactured cores.

The interior is red, fabric seats. Everything inside is original. The seats, dash, console, and door panels are in good condition. The drivers door has a 2 inch door panel plastic seam gap, ashtray needs the spring reinstalled. The T-Tops do have minor leaks.

Under the hood, the 5.0L GT engine is rated at 225 HP and 300 lbs/ft. of torque and starts and runs as new, with the unmistakably distinct GT rumble from behind. Except the stereo and amp and rims, I would say the car is period correct.

The undercarriage of this Mustang is completely rust and damage free. The floor pans, frame rails, and wheels wells are in great condition showing the original primer with Burgandy over spray. The mechanicals are all functional and well maintained.

Rachel starts, runs, shifts, drives, turns and stops just like the day it was built and maybe even better! T-Tops off and sunglasses on! Staggered tires and ROH rims in good excellent condition, as are the brakes, wipers and all other soft parts.

January 1988 issue of Car & Driver

“1988’s Ten Best Cars”:
This is the tenth year for the Mustang in its current guise, and the Ford engineers are so happy with what they’ve wrought that they’ve made virtually no changes for 1988.

The 1988 V-8 Stangs are ripsnorting stallions, with 225 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque under their hoods. Dip deep into their throttles at any rpm and the frisky Fords respond with a wallop of good old-fashioned American torque—enough to make you forget all about four-valve combustion chambers and high-tech turbochargers.”

If you have any questions about the car, please feel free to give me a call or an email. I am a private seller, not a dealer.

“An '88 Mustang GT with T-Tops in this condition is hard to find and it's even harder to find one for sale.” J, true statement!

Car is being sold as is and as shown
