Description of 1967 Ford Mustang A code / 4-speed / Disc Brakes -- T/A replica |
WILL TRADE-- prefer high performance vintage Mopar, but will look at whatever you've got. Original 1967 Ford Mustang 289 'A' code manual shift coupe Trans-am T/A tribute/replica Street legal road-racer or auto-crosser I purchased this in good shape, but then I then had over $6K worth of interior work professionally completed by my vintage auto restorer. The interior seat covers & seat foams are all new, carpets, dash, headliner, door panels, electronic analog gauges; all new. Here's what's been done to car. When the carpet came out we found some corrosion to floor pans so they have been professionally welded in & replaced w/all new reproduction steel---both sides driver/passenger. New window crank regulators installed inside doors both sides driver/passenger---now windows roll up/down easily and smoothly. All window glass is excellent. Gauges are brand new electronic but still have that vintage analog look. These will still need to be properly calibrated by new owner, but all instructions come with the car. Here's what previous owner told me about the engine. "Trying to remember what I did to the original 289-4bbl you have, as I recall, its bored .60.. raised the compression slightly, I ported and polished the Heads, had them machined to accept Chevy 2.02 intake and 1.94 exhaust., Manley Swirl Valves. And I believe 1 to 1.6 rockers, bigger cam, but I can’t recall the specs. Overall best performance upgrade was the D.U.I distributor.. was able to gain a lot of RPM without the Points Floating like in the old Distributor." Sale includes extra original FoMoCo 4-bbl cast iron heads. Now running Edelbrock carb & alum. intake manifold. Electronic ignition. Electric cooling fan. All new belts & hoses. New battery. New fuel lines. New fuel level sending unit. Original open rear end converted to Traction Lok 3:23-1 ratio. Carwill accelerate toover 100mph quickly, andcan cruise at that speed all day long with no problem. This is a fast Mustang. Original Ford 3-speed upgraded to 4-speed TopLoader trans w/Hurst shifter. No slop in mechanism--very tight & crisp shifting. Original front disc brakes w/all FoMoCo parts. Hedman headers w/3" dual exhaust exiting in front of rear axle. Dual Flowmaster exhaust. Sounds incredible--no leaks. Suspension lowered 3" w/all new Global West neoprene autocross suspension. New Lakewood Koni replica shocks. Traction bars. Huge sway bars front & rear. New 15" Aero Nascar steel racing wheels with new Falken 60 series steel radials. Elongated racing studs. New 2 stage metal flake blue with Wimbledon white 2-toned paint. Excellent condition andpaint looks incredible out in the sun. All vintage appliques are simply STICKERS, and are REMOVABLE w/ heat gun if desired. 2-toned blue/white & racing stripes are PAINT & clear coatare FLAWLESS and really beautiful.Candy blue really sparkles in the sunlight. All 4 inner wheel wellsradius ROLLEDfor tire clearance. Body & floors were strengthened when carpets were removed; all weak points in floors werere-welded & gusseted. Monte Carlo bars in engine bay for rigidity. With these mods and the sway bars & traction bars, the car feels very tight & planted during acceleration, braking, and cornering. Brakes--excellent. Clutch--excellent. Transmission--excellent. Steering box--excellent. This is a very tight car. All gauges-lights-switches-wipers work as they should. Mileage from old speedo-odo shows 12K miles. Chances are it has turned over once so keep this in mind please that actual mileage is unknown. Motor pulls very hard andloves to rev. Someone really built a great little motor, and theredoes seem to bequite a bit of performance cam and rocker work in there. Blip the throttle in neutral and the revs are instantaneous. Very impressive--must see, hear & drive. At idle it sounds more like a big block. Suspension is very tight but could still be driven every day if desired.Takes any corner flat and quick. One of the fastest small block Mustangs I've ever owned, and I've owned a bunch.I'm going to keep this listing brief but folks, I really doubt you'll ever find a true '67 'A' code, manual shiftMustang that is this nice, or this well set up, at this price. I have well over my starting bid personally invested in this car.
