Description of 1970 Ford Mustang Sports Roof (Fastback) |
This is a very clean 1970 Mustang fastback. The paint is very good but not quite show quality. The interior is very nice, just needs front seat upholstered as shown in the photos. The car is equipped with a 4 point roll bar. and has no back seat but is nicely covered with carpet. Door and back panels are very good as well as the head liner. Dash is capped and looks original. The engine compartment has had the shock towers modified to accept a Boss 429, (Mounts Included) but now has plenty of room for a Mod motor, or a SOCH 427. Of course a small block of FE motor will still fit, only now it is easier to work on. All the wiring is clean and intact, appears to be in very good condition. The clutch is set up with a cable for a Tremac but still has everything in place to go back to linkage. The front suspension is completely rebuilt and has the Shelby modifications that re-locates the upper control arms for better handling. It also has a new 1 1/8th inch front anti-roll bar. The front brakes are 11 inch late model Ford components and are all new. (see photos) All that is needed is to bolt in the coil over shocks in the front end that match your engine choice. There are sub-frame connectors going back to the rear axle which is a 9 inch ford with a 3.50 Traction Loc unit with hardened aftermarket 31 spline axles. Also has Gabriel Drag Shocks in the rear. The rear brakes are drum and are also completely new. Included with the car is a new, still in the box, steering gear that is a bolt in unit and converts it to power steering without the need for any slave cylinder. Very trick! Other new items include the front and rear glass trim, and a new lower grill trim piece. It also has new front inner fender aprons and a new drivers front floor panel as the drivers floor appears to be the only place with any rust that I can see. I have included detailed photos of the car from the bottom for your review. The left front fender apron has had damage in the past and was repaired, so i picked up a new panel, the passenger side had a little corrosion under the battery box. The battery is now located in the trunk. Other new items include and OEM gas tank and a new electric fuel pump. Still have the small block motor mount plates, and a radiator that would be sized right for a modified small block. Also has an electric cooling fan. This car is available for your personal inspection at any time with an appointment. A lift is available for easy inspection. A NON REFUNDABLE deposit is required within 48 hours at the close of your winning bid. balance due in cash at pickup. Pickup only, cannot ship. If you are looking for an easy project, this is the one. Bolt your engine and transmission of choice and the appropriate front coil overs the rest you can do while you drive it. |
